seller delivered fast, easy install and product works perfectly with my Genie garage door from 1997
Before deciding to purchase a new garage door sensor make sure your old one is indeed not functioning. When the LED starts blinking it means that someone or something is in the way of the sensors. If nothing is blocking them, then it could mean that the sensors are not aligned. You might have bumped into one of them so move it a bit until the 2 sensors line up with one other. Once aligned, the red LED will stop blinking and just be a solid red. If that does not work and the light still blinks or there is no light on at all, make sure that both sensors are getting power. Check to make sure a plug didnt pop out of one of the sensors (if you have the older plug in model that i had) or that a wire nut didnt fall off and the copper wires became untangled and loose. If the red LED light blinks that means that particular sensor is getting power so check the other one for power issues. If all else fails then maybe its time for a new sensor.I purchased the GSTB-BX to replace my broken garage door sensor from 1997. It was an older design where the garage door wire had a small plug at the end of it that connects into the sensor. One particular day when cleaning the garage my broom made contact with the sensor wire a little too hard which broke the plug tip.It could not longer fit into the sensor socket properly and kept falling out. Genie did not carry this old plug anoymore so I decided to electric tape it to the sensor which allowed it to work again. However a small bump would shift the wire and loosen it. So tired of this temporary solution i decided to purchase a new sensor. This new GSTB-BX sensor is 50% cheaper here on Amazon than at at the local Home Depot. Ive had it for 2 weeks and it works great so far! It does not have that brittle plug/socket connection that my old sensor used, but rather 2 screws that you hook pigtail wire copper around to tighten which is much more efficient. Also, the bracket is already built into this new sensor so you dont have to screw it to the sensor either. Lastly, both sensors contain a light unlike the old ones. One contains a red LED that blinks when something is in the way of the sensors and the other one is a solid green LED that lets you know that the sensor is receiving power. The installation was quick and easy. I contacted Genie to ask if i needed to shut off the electricity of the garage to do the installation and they let me know that it wasnt neccessary. My old connection had the garage door wires coming out of the wall which connected to 2 pigtail wires with wire-nuts. The other end of the pigtail wires connected into a plug that went into the sensor. The sensor screwed into a bracket and the bracket screwed into the wall. So i took the wire-nuts off the 2 pigtail/garage wires and untwisted the copper wire connection. Then on the other end of the pigtail wires, I cut off the plug and stripped the insulator wire back about 1.5 cm (refer to instructions that come with product for exact lengths) with a wire stripper and created a J hook shape with the exposed copper. I then removed the old bracket/sensor and screwed in this new Genie Gstb-bx .That copper J shape wrapped around each screw in the new sensor which, when tightened, held it in place tight. On the other end of the pigtail wires, the coppers wires were twisted together with the garage wires and a wire-nut cap was placed over to keep them secure. And wah-lah I was done!Hopefully this review helps anyone looking to purchase this product.

Genie P/N 37220R –– Easy & Simple to Install
Ordered the Genie Safe-T-Beam® sensors (P/N 37220R; set of 2 included) thru 365 Garage Doors to replace the OEM sensors which were installed with my now-3-year-old Genie opener & sectional door. The OEM sensors worked well for almost 3 years, then one day my door intermittently refused to close. After some trouble-shooting, and reading numerous reviews and watching YouTube videos, it became clear the OEM Genie sensors are prone to premature failure. Moisture infiltration is the likely culprit, but excessively bright sunlight can also disable the older model sensors (square box style) –– preventing your door from CLOSING. These sensors have no effect on the OPENING/UPWARD path –– ONLY the CLOSING/DOWNWARD path!***** Do not bother trying to bypass the sensors! *****Genie openers (made since 1993) receive a brief "pulse" every few milliseconds when these sensors are functioning correctly. Those "pulses" signal to the opener that "nothing is blocking the path between both sensors & it is SAFE to close the door." Attempting to bypass the sensor circuit causes that "pulse" to disappear and, without it being present, the opener will NOT allow the door to CLOSE or travel downward. *****Genie sensor Part No. 37220R is evidently a modified replacement, as the manufacturer redesigned the housing and added a protective coating to the interior components to alleviate the moisture related issues. They also redesigned the transmitter and receiver "eyes," by shielding them further behind a round, recessed plastic enclosure which, presumably, solves the issue of bright sunlight causing them to interpret sunlight as an "obstacle" being in the way.THESE SENSORS WILL ONLY IMPACT THE CLOSING (downward) motion of your garage door. If your door opens upward without any issues, and fails to close (while the RED SENSOR LIGHT is FLASHING), replacing both sensors will likely solve the problem. Since mine had all the wiring already in place, changing them out was EASY, SIMPLE and QUICK! It helps to have a cordless driver/drill to remove/re-install the mounting bracket hardware. Other than that, the wiring is simple, low-voltage, and polarity is not an issue. (Unplug the opener before you begin for your own safety!)Total replacement time: 30-45 minutes, including cleanupTotal cost as a DIY item: under $30.00 (vs. $120–200 having an installer do the work)***** THANK YOU 365 GARAGE DOORS ********** Fast, prompt and inexpensive solution! ***** Genie Safe-T-Beam Garage Door Safety Beams Set - Replacement Kit For Genie Garage Door Openers

Swapped out bashed up Overhead Door sensors
Took 5 minutes to swap the original, 20 year old Overhead Door sensors that were held together with duct tape and wire ties. Work great - not much more to say. We’ll see how they last to getting rammed with the garbage pails - it just happens

Great Replacement Sensor for Genie ISL950
The original square shaped safety sensors on my Genie ISL 950 garage door stopped working after over 15 years of service. The replacement safety sensor model 37220R was a perfect replacement. Very easy to install. Replace the red sensor with red and green with green or they are interchangeable if you want to switch due to direct sunlight or any other interference. Disconnecting the power to the opener prior to replacement was not necessary for me. Watched a youtube video before hand to become familiar. Search safety beam sensor replacement.

Works Great
Shipped very quickly and was very easy to install. Don't let other peoples reviews about not being able to tell the difference between the left and right sway you, they are both CLEARLY labelled. :)I am annoyed I had to replace one of these after only one year which is why only the 4*, but the replacement was easy to install and continues working several weeks later.
