Does it support 220V?

My unit purchased in the US does not have a voltage selector on the back. Perhaps there are jumpers inside? ...but I'm sure if purchased in EU it will.

In practical terms, what does the file-splitting mean? presumably it does nor affect playback? i want to archive my obsolescent dat's on cards.

File splitting simply means that a single file can be split in two. This allows you to move the now 2 files (songs) into a different playing order in the playlist.

Can i connect this device directly to my yamaha mixer emx512sc to record my singing?

It has XLR (balanced) inputs and rca (unbalanced) inputs
