When we purchased our Napolean grill last year we loved the stainless steel grating in the main grill space. The side sear burner area has a coated cast iron grate as the stainless grate was an upgrade for the higher priced version. We keep the grill covered always but after a year the back side of the cast iron grating started flaking off the coating and rust. So we purchased this unit and it is the perfect replacement.Fits perfect, the legs line up perfect, cleans easily, no rust. And not that it is a huge deal, but it cools off a little faster too when you are done grilling and ready to close things up.This is a keeper!

Best upgrade for Napoleon prestige!! That cast iron junk that came standard on my 665 prestige was horrible!! Meat never seared properly,, and always stuck! I replaced it with this SS grate and what a difference!! I just washed it first, put it the infrared burner and seasoned it with some grape seed first… steaks sear perfect now!!! Once you get used to using your sear station,,,,, this grate is awesome!!

Great stainless steel grate, helps avoid the constant rusting of the cast iron from the searing heat burning off the seasoning. Also very pleased to see the waves, despite not being in the posted photos.

The Napoleon Prestige 500 grill comes with the infrared sizzle zone side burner on the left. Many have said that even though the grids for the main burners are stainless steel, the grid that comes for the infrared sizzle zone is cast iron. This cast iron rusts and flakes without constant maintenance. I took the owners consensus on the internet that since I would be keeping my grill stored outside, I needed to replace this cast iron grid. So I ordered the Napoleon Stainless Steel Infrared Side Burner Grid accessory.Looking at the pictures online I was disappointed that the grid was straight lined and not made with Napoleon’s Iconic WAVE™. Receiving the box the cover still had the straight line grid pictured. Opening the box I was very happy to see the waves. So this is a perfect accessory for my grill. The grid is heavy weight, welds are good, and the wave matches the main burner grids.So even though this grid is on the up-side of cost, with the look and being less prone to rust, I think it is worth it.

As an owner of many Napoleon products, it was no surprise that this stainless grate has the same quality construction as all the other products I own.Replacement for the cast iron side burner grate that comes with the Prestige 500 series. After 4 years of use in high humidity climate, the cast iron was done. If your cast iron is starting to flake, don't wait..just buy the stainless. You will get tired of cleaning the flakes of cast iron off of your infrared ceramic. The stainless Is easier to clean and maintain.
