PayAnywhere PAR-1 Mobile Card Reader - Retail Packaging - Black

I was really hoping for a good alternative to using PayPal, since they aren't my favorite company. I ended up choosing the PayAnywhere reader because an opportunity came up to sell some products and I really wanted to be able to accept credit cards. This was the only card reader I was able to purchase discounted next-day shipping for with my Prime membership, so I figured I'd give it a shot.The Android app worked great on my Galaxy SIII. It even has a test mode where you can try out all the features without actually setting up an account or having the reader. I really do like the app and its inventory functionality. I tested it some more when I got the actual card reader to plug in. This also worked very well.I charged two of my own credit cards $1 to test it out and see how the charge came through. Everything seemed to work to my satisfaction, so I tried it out with real customers the next day. I only sold a handful of $20 items, grossing under $200 for the day. I only used it this one day because I wanted to make sure the funds got into my account within the stated 1-2 business days before continuing to use it. Good thing I thought this, because it took two weeks to find out they put a hold on my funds without notifying me, and I had to contact them to remove it. They still never ended up telling me why there was a hold, but I eventually got my money and decided I would not use them again. I will be using PayPal's "PayPal Here" reader and app instead, since although they are not my favorite company either, I feel my odds of avoiding hassle are greater with PayPal, and I've never had them hold my funds before.It is also worth noting the $10 credit promotion has fine print involved. Don't expect to get this $10 credit for purchasing the reader, I didn't.I will let my chat transcript speak for itself on my experience with this company. I received the PayAnywhere Mobile Card Reader and have yet to put it to good use, but it does seem to be a great convenience to have around when a customer wants to use their credit/debit card. On a side note to those wanting to share in this convenience, do not buy this device from Amazon, or any other retailer for that matter. You can get this for free from PayAnywhere directly.

Bought this for my husband. It does work well. But it takes a few days before it is deposited in the bank. Also, When I went to the website to enroll they mail them out for free.

works well, got it fast, fits my android devices. if the website worked better and actually filed my information i put through, id actually be using it.

Easy to use and attach to both my iphone and ipad. Allows for immediate processing of payment. The application is easy to work. Although, I'm disappointed that I could have gotten this for FREE! (via signing up with the application).
