Lenovo G500 15.6" Laptop i5-3230M， 4GB Memory, 1TB Hard Drive, Black

I bought this for myself to use as a work laptop. Since moving, and switching professions, I gave it to my daughter as a temporary hold until I could afford to get her a desktop of her own. I'm not getting it back. :-) It turns out that the laptop has almost as much memory and storage as my desktop in a much smaller package, and with many fewer parts. The only thing that doesn't seem to work, after about 9 months, is the wi-fi card, which did work when I got it, but stopped working after our move. However, we have a very long Ethernet cable so my daughter can get online when she needs to do so. She uses it for everything you would need it to do: homework, creative projects, email, watching DVDs. As I said, I don't think I'm getting it back and I don't see me needing to buy her a desktop when this much more portable option is just as powerful. She just needs to remember to charge it every few days, depending on how much it's used during the week.

Good laptop, does what it's supposed to do. The only real problem is that the keyboard in the numerical keypad area is configured strangely, which makes it difficult to use.

I was excited with the specs of this computer when I got it but have been a little disappointed with performance. I got this as a replacement for my four year old Dell laptop that runs Vista. The Dell outperformes it with the little stuff like logging in users and opening basic programs like Chrome. For some reason when I switch users the screen goes black for about forty seconds before lighting back up. I'm still getting used to windows 8 and I've heard that it has some issues but I thought this would be a substantial upgrade over the midrange Dell. This is my first Lenovo and after a few months of use I'd say its... ok.

Had it for a month before I returned it. It froze approximately every 2 days and was extremely slow at times. I needed it mostly for school but it's way too heavy to carry around all day. The speakers are really loud though, that was cool.

This computer has caused me more problems than any I have ever owned. And the bonus was it came with a company installed VIRUS!SUPERFISH! read about it will curl your hair. Upgraded to windows 10 hoping to solve problems the POS will not start half the time without repair.I believe LENOVO reloads its crap back in it. DO NOT buy A LENOVO!! READ about the problems! and the security

Works just fine... a SSD upgrade with a Samsun 840 pro makes it boot in a couple of seconds. The real downfall is the wireless is 2.4ghz only and cannot be upgraded "legally"
