Bought this for two of my granddaughters and both of them loved it It's very durable and wonderful. This is a gift that your daughters or children should keep so that they can eventually give it to their children. Also look for the one that is a panda bear that has 10 little things in it.

I was a bit hesitant to place the order at first, because I had seen a number of reviews saying that the pieces were extremely difficult to get apart. However, there were enough positive reviews, so I took a chance. Well, to my delight, the animal nesting dolls were a great value for the money, they were beautifully finished, and extremely cute. But, then I ran into the problem of the owl doll not wanting to separate. The solution was very simple - I took a small piece of fine sandpaper, and gently sanded the inside bottom edge of the top half by gently rotating it over the paper. Just a few turns did it, and now it works perfectly.

Many reviewers claimed to have had problems with these sets, such as pieces not fitting together, bad paint jobs, and/or the wood being cracked on some of the dolls. Just as a precaution, I ordered two exact sets, thinking that would provide me with a better chance of being able to put together one complete set that had no damage or problems. I'm glad I did, because there were some paint and finish problems on some of the dolls, one of the dolls was cracked, and on one of the large dolls, the top and bottom were completely misshapen and COULD NOT be put together (it arrived in two pieces in the box!). At least, with two identical sets, I was able to put together one set that was actually acceptable to gift to my granddaughter, and I'm returning the damaged set, with a note describing everything that is wrong with it -- hopefully, that will prevent them from sending it out to someone else. These are cheap knockoff dolls made in China -- better to buy the ones actually made in Russia or Ukraine, which really are not that much more expensive, especially considering the difference in quality and workmanship you get for the money.

Beware of small Santa. Easily a chocking hazard. Also the large Santa did not fit well. I had to sand it down

These are very cute. They also seem to be well made. I think my granddaughter will love them.

Got this for my 6 year old daughter’s Easter basket. She really enjoys it. Classic toy but updated to a new style. We will likely keep this one a very long time!

Dolls were very well painted but far too tight and difficult to nest and screw together. couldn't even open one set it was so tight. I think that the wood warped after carving because they are painted on one surface(outer) only, Too bad - would have been great stocking stuffers for our granddaughters!
