No. Until fully feathered, chicks need steady warmth to grow and thrive. Keep the brooder indoors above 50°F and away from drafts. Set the plate just above their backs and raise it as they grow.

Which size brooder plate do I need?

The 12"×8” EcoGlow 600 suits classrooms and small backyard broods - about 12-20 chicks depending on size and species. For larger or faster growing groups, choose the 17"×11” EcoGlow 1200.
