It seems like the boll is real but the stems are actually wrapped wire. The wrapping is a brown textured fabric that feels very woody and realistic. The stems are bendable. The boll husk has likely been treated with something (resin?) because it has a realistic texture but doesn’t dry out and crumble. I’ve had mine more than a year with no breakage or problems at all.

Beautiful cotton stems - very realistic

The cotton stems were beautiful. So glad I ordered them. However, I was lucky that I actually received them. The packaging was awful. The flimsy box was torn in three places and had been taped back together. Some of the stems were actually sticking out of the box. I would have given 5 stars had the packaging been as it should have been.
