Great product
I have tried several heating pads and this is my favorite:a) It does not cycle on and off getting cool and warm like many others do. When it is on it is on.b) It has automatic shut-off after a few hours.c) It is a nice size and can wrap around my shoulder and still get part of my back (the areas I like to treat simultaneously)d) It is long enough that if I use it as a foot warmer, I can wrap it around both my feet (S shaped so both my feet are 'individually' wrapped)e) The middle setting is warm enough that it is my setting of choice, but that also means that there is a warmer temperature I can use with if I need hotter. Some reviews mention the product is stiff and hard to bend. Yes, when cold that is correct. However, my solution is to turn it on a few minutes before I need it so it is pliable when I am ready to use it. Also, though not recommended, I do lay on it and fall asleep - in that scenario the low setting is low enough to not be a problem for me yet high enough to do the job I need it to do (laying on it traps the heat so it does get hotter).

a smart purchase
This product has been worth the purchase. This is my first heating pad, so I haven't compared products, but I am happy with this purchase. I don't suffer from back problems like some people, besides the usual knots and tension in my back and shoulders from sitting at a computer at work all day. I get a massage occasionally, and my massage therapist recommended to use a heating pad to relieve muscle tension. I use this product to relax the back muscles before I go to bed and to prevent further tension, and it helps (along with massages I get and stretching I do). I set the heat level on the pad to medium, which is the right temperature for me. I purchased 2 and gave one to my mother. She fell last year, fracturing her shoulder blade and bruising her back and arm. That was 6 months ago, and she continues to have back pain when she moves a certain way. She uses this heating pad not every day but frequently, and says it helps eases some of the pain. I think you will be happy with this purchase.

Heating it up!
I needed a heating pad, and had been searching when I came across the Conair one. I have a bunch of Conair products, so I figured, I might as well try this one out. I'll admit, I was a bit disappointed when I open it up, but that quickly changed. The pad as three settings (I would have liked a dial instead of low, medium and high), but it heats up SUPER quick. Super easy on/off buttons. Comes with a "moisture pad" and a cover. I usually put a pillow case over my heating pads - which is good because to hold on the cover it comes with, there is only a small snap, which is forever unsnapping. I would prefer either a couple of snaps, or a plastic zipper. Something that holds it on better.Overall, for the price, it's a very good heating pad. I have thought of buying another one for my boyfriend.

Good heat but...
This pad heats quickly, stays on for plenty of time, and is nice and big. My only complaint is that it has too much air in it so that when you place any weight on it, it puffs up and creates hard sharp corners. I want to pop it with a little pin but am too worried it would continue to open up and ruin it. This pad is literally padded and that is nice but it tends to bunch up and when it does, the extra air in it creates a balloon effect and makes the edges sharp...I hope this makes sense as I am having a hard time explaining what it does. I own another king size one of another brand and it does not have this issue nor does it have the padding so I believe the padding is what causes this issue.

Satisfied Customer!
My last heating pad (not sure what model or brand it was) I had for about 8 years. I just got this one to replace it, as the old one finally burned out. This pad is a MUCH nicer, higher quality pad than my old one. It's much softer, more flexible and doesn't get bunched up when I use it. I don't think it's getting quite as hot (as my last one), but it does seem to hold the temperature better. Last but not least, the sponge that comes with this "Conair" (so you can get a moist heat) is the entire size of the heating pad and fits snug inside the pad. My old one had a really small moisture pad, which moved around inside). This another improvement. So again, my opinion is that it's a really, really nice product, especially for the price I paid. Very satisfied so far!

Great except for the plastic snaps
This is the second heating pad I've bought like this and the only complaint I have is that the plastic snaps to keep the cover on it are pretty much useless. When I move around, they easily unsnap and the cover ends up coming off. Other than that, I love the heating pad itself or I wouldn't have bought another of the same kind. (The old one started not working every time I turned it on; I used it a LOT.) This heating pad automatically shuts off, as described, which is a MUST feature for me. I like the size and the control.

Terrible - Waste of money
I purchased this as a replacement to the one I had for 10 years which finally wore out. I was amazed that after a decade Conair is still making this exact item. I went looking for a new one and was disappointed that everything out there was fairly small. This one is about 20" in length which is great if you want to be able to wrap it around your back/side, arms or legs. The controls are simple and the 3 settings for heat is all you need. It's auto off option is great for me because I tend to fall asleep on it. It doesn't get super hot but it warms up enough to make me start sweating after a while. As for the moist pad that comes with it, it ripped after a few days but its simply a piece of super thin, sheer foam. I've replaced that with a damp rag which works just fine.UPDATE: 9/21/14 Should have updated my review months ago. DO NOT PURCHASE. This heating pad is garbage. It quickly melted into a blob of plastic. If I could add pictures I would. I managed a couple of times to semi-straighten it out using Hercules muscles but it melts right back into a crinkled mess. I purchased this particular one because I had the exact same heating pad for about a decade and it was great until it began getting super hot and I could no longer use it. I am left to believe that Conair changed the materials or method of manufacturing. This was a waste of money.
