Q: Roof overhang above deck is 96" from ground. If I installed the 10' x 16' unit and pitched it 5 degrees, it would be 7 feet at the low end-correct?

Hi Sal D. New Jersey,Yes, if you mount the 10'x16' awning in the roof overhang that is 96" above the ground and pitched it at 5 degrees, it would be roughly 81.5" (6' 9") at the low end. You lose several (rough 4) inches due to the height of the awning cassette and the 1" clearance needed from the roof overhang. Please refer to the following document for a diagram of the awning pitch angles: http://www.advaning.com/kcfinder/upload/files/Advaning_bar_height_diagram.pdfWe generally do not recommend installations below the height of 10', especially when the awning has a 10' overhang. Another issue that you would face is the pitch adjustment rod would be quite long at that height. However, we do have 1 shorter adjustment rod left in stock. Depending on the length of your deck, having 2 - 8'x6' or 2 - 10'x'8' awnings installed next to each other may be the better option. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
