For sure, the best Comprehensive Single Textbook for the Automotive Technician student or school program. It is very complete, detailed, clearly written and illustrated, the pedagogy is excellent to learn concepts and procedures of automotive operation, diagnosis and repair. I am studying from it for a state license exam, and will study for ASE exam certifications later on. If you want to learn everything automotive from the beginning in a single textbook, this is the book to go!

This book is put together very well. Chapters are bite sized 5-15 pgs making it easy to digest even the difficult sections provide additional senarios to assist in grasping the information.

Great textbook for class

I went and bought this book after I realized this is the book my school was teaching us from. Has been very helpful continuing with auto mechanics. Would definitely recommend if you want to learn automechanics.

This is an outstanding book to understand not only how each automotive system works, but how to troubleshoot problems and in general repair (obviously details vary based on the make and model). Lots of pictures, and interesting cases from the author's extensive experience. My only beef: the last couple chapters seemed rushed. Typos pop up, and the explanations of how automatic transmissions & transfer cases work, and how to find sources of vibration and noise, are poorly written. I had to go online to find videos of how these function to understand.

I bought this as a reference for working on my own vehicles and it was definitely worth the money. Very thorough with great diagrams.

Digital copy is very good, essentially similar to the physical without the aspect of carrying it around, can access the search option and highlight important key notes. Cheaper than the physical copy and be accessed on every platform (pc, mac and every smart devices). It beats having to haul a giant text book. The quintessential book for Motive Power if you are studying at Centennial College.
