If you work in a corporate office, this is a must buy.
Great book - loved the writing style: clear, concise and humorous on occasion (even made a Jay Z reference).I took a lot of great tips from this book that I've been applying to my every day tasks at the office. Highly recommended for anyone who works in a corporate office, from rookies to veterans.

ACTION REQUIRED: Buy this book for your employees and your co-workers
Like a good email, it's a breeze to read and there is no question about its utility.Simply: Be accurate. Show up early. Make it easy for everyone else. Ask for what you deserve.Sternly: It's all so much simpler than you expected. That said, I detect a deeper purpose at play: "How to write an email" is a light cast upon the obfuscation of bureaucracy and the dimness of corporate power. As an unwitting entrepreneur, I was happy to see so many directives that I have shared with my own employees and colleagues (although, I’m sure I came off less succinct and less generous). This book contains so many lessons I myself learned too slowly (wondering if business school might have offered these insights… of course, it does not).Although the book is clearly for those navigating the bowels of a much more corporate culture and hierarchy, I found many useful approaches that would benefit any company (and really, anyone communicating to anyone in a professional context).I have read no other business books, so I cannot compare this to the rest. But if you are to read a "first" book for business, this must be it.Hopefully I don't have to wait too long for the follow-up guide, "How to be a boss."

The Un-gendered "Lean In"
Don't be mislead by the title, there are tons of great tips in here that go far beyond emailing. It just as much about how to be recognized in the workplace and promoted for your accomplishments that can often go unnoticed. That's why I call it the un-gendered "Lean In".I've leant "How to Write an Email" to all of my friends that also care about improving the quality of their work and succeeding in business. Now that everyone is my office has read it too, we are communicating more clearly with each other and our clients.Easily the most HELPFUL book I've read in recent years, from one "efficiency monster" to another.Get it as soon as it's back in print!

BEST GIFT FOR COLLEGE GRADS!!!!!
I wish I had this book 20 years ago! This is it--short and sweet--about how to climb the corporate ladder without working your butt off or kissing butt either. It is an easy read and really applies to any job where someone wants to get a raise or promotion. I would TOTALLY recommend this for a graduation gift and for anyone who just got a new job. Read this! I think that this book will be a classic in 20 years, and hopefully required reading for all college students. Great book.

to the point and fun. I wish I had read this book when ...
Helpful, to the point and fun. I wish I had read this book when I was just out of college and starting in the workplace. It demystifies quickly and clearly what your bosses need and expect from you in a way that is simple but isn't always easy to figure out on your own. Immediately bought it for my younger brother and sister who are starting out on that path. I'm in my thirties and work for myself now but there were still tons of useful A-ha moments in every chapter. Great stuff.
