This is now my second CarLock device and it does exactly what I expect and with no fuss. If you're looking for affordable, easy to manage vehicle security then this is really one of the top devices on the market. Not to mention the fantastic customer support as always... I bought my first CarLock device exactly 5 years ago today! After buying a hot hatch I was looking for a bit more peace of mind and have had no issues with it ever. That was the OBD2 version, which I have hidden away under the dash. Last month after taking on an additional vehicle following an increase in business miles I looked no further than CarLock, since the OBD2 location on my new vehicle isn't best placed I oped for the hardwired version which you connect over the battery. Sure this might not be as discreet as the OBD version that you can hide away inside the vehicle but depending on your situation the hardwire version is just as good and offers the same features. All that was needed was a small spanner to loose the bolts and connect it to the corresponding terminals on the battery. Set up is easy, firstly I connected the device over the battery and went inside and opened my CarLock app which was already set up in my case. It's easy to download from both the major app stores and a simple guide is shown to get to know how to use the app a little. I went to add a device and all you need is the small card that comes in the packaging with the activation code and serial number. Of course monthly payments are required by credit card or PayPal, I just went with PayPal since my existing device already uses that for payment. First month of use is included, so no additional charge to set it up until the subscription starts the next month. It's handy to know the location of the vehicle and the device will also alert you to vibration alerts, and if the vehicle has moved, device disconnected, the list goes on. Notifications are instant and usually a closing of a door on the vehicle triggers a vibration alert. Actually my favorite feature is for tracking business mileage, and at the end of the day/week I normally go through and review my journeys on the app and flick it from a personal journey to a business journey. It makes fuel claims easier at the end of the month when you can export your trips from my.carlock.co on a computer to an Excel document. Usually for monitoring, I have it automatically turn off monitoring through the day and otherwise turned on at night and weekends, this just saves having to open the app to turn it on/off if you're going for a drive. The vibration sensor is fairly sensitive and accurate, however I believe an extra Bluetooth device can be paired with the tracker that offers better sensitivity. Overall these devices are excellent, if you're worried about signal loss/GPS inaccuracy, fear not. I've never had an issue of disconnection alerts or incorrect journey details and I frequently travel through dead zones and through very rural parts of Scotland. There are 3 subscriptions available, standard being £6.95 which is the one I go for, a cheaper basic for £5.90 and a standard+ for £8.95 which gives a quicker GPS update time and longer storage of driving history reports. You'll probably find it difficult to find a cheaper one that offers the same feature with the good experience. As always their customer services have always been prompt and excellent help should you need to contact them. Coming from my 5 years experience I really have had no faults with their service ever, it just works!

Really good tracker I found it through a recommendation from B7LXR. Easy to install and setup with great alerts. Inexpensive and reasonable subscription fee.

This is my second Carlock tracker. After owning the original odbii version installed to my other car I already had a a good idea of what these have to offer. The basic tracker however is more security focused. Can be easily installed directly to the battery terminals for a semi discrete but very easy installation option but also offers the ability to hard wire anywhere else in your vehicle where you can provide a permanent live and and earth supply giving much more concealed options. The basic subscription removes some of the driver behaviour details, trip history data and fancy dashboards within the app. But from a security perspective you get everything you need. Real time vehicle tracking, and when in armed mode you get vibration, engine start and tracker disconnected alerts. Pair the app with the Bluetooth tag and you have the potential for a fully automated arm/disarm tracking. Without the tag there is some clever logic the app can use to recognise when you’ve turned the engine off and stopped your trip and will auto arm but you have to remember to disarm manually or make use of the optional schedule feature. The Bluetooth tag is a little hit and miss but I understand this is more of a limitation to do with iOS. In terms of pricing the basic plan only can only be purchased on a yearly basis. Currently £70. You get a free 30 day subscription with the device. The standard plan can be purchased yearly at £82, or you can pay monthly at £6.92pm. I understand there will be a future option to upgrade your existing basic plan to the standard plan by just paying the difference on a monthly basis ($1pm). Ultimately this means it’s more about which model tracker is suitable for your application as they can both support the same features. In terms of Carlock in general and the whole service I’ve been really happy. The app receives constant development, their support team are reasonably responsive and they are always asking for user feedback which is encouraging.

After purchasing a sports coupe I decided I needed added security protection and decided to purchase a tracker. The Carlock was competatively priced and easy to install. I didn't connect to the battery as per the instructions, I connected it making it difficult to find. The Carlock mobile app works great and logs your trips, speed etc and ifthe car was to be stolen an alarm would sound and I could follow the cars location via the map on the app. I also purchased the Carlock Tag which enables & disarms the tracker automatically and there is a small monthly subscription for this service. I have found this a little hit and miss and it hasn't disarmed the tracker making the alarm on my mobile to go off on several occassions as I have been driving. The one posotive with this is I know that the trackeris doing it's job.

This is a simple but brilliant bit of kit. Installation takes 5 mins, once up and running download the app, follow the instructions and away you go. For me, this in a brilliant bit of additional security that adds piece of mind that your car is safe and untampered with. Vibration alerts, movement alerts, real time tracking plus more. I'll be looking to purchase another to put in my other car. Highly recommend.

Bought this system to protect my van, cost £20 a month. Everyday for six months I checked my van’s location on the Amazing satellite app which is free to download after buying the product & each time it showed it’s exact location, parked outside my home , really cool . On the seventh month we went to Dorset , relaxing in the van , watching telly I thought how’s my van doing so I checked the amazing app and found it was ok ….,.,, Sitting on the driveway outside my house ! Contacted the company who said it was a glitch & they will sort it out. Spent two weeks in Dorset in the van that was still parked outside my home so when we got back I cancelled my subscription & cut the wires .

Very Easy to install. i found this very useful, the app works well on my iPHONE. I didn'-t bother with the tag, as read that it didn't work great. i'm happy with the fact that it arms itself after ten minutes, but only drawback is if you get stuck for example at train lines, and car engine stops, it arms itself after ten minutes. you need to disarm again with the app. then you can continue your journey. It's gives an extra line of security. The app is informative and easy to use. I would recommend this. you also have the added security of the app calling or texting your phone, but that is an extra cost. I am on the Standard plan. it costs £8.95 per month. And it sends you a weekly report by email.

I'm reviewing purely on the basis of motorcycle fitment and usage. So after my scooter was stolen and I got it back I decided on a tracker. (Fitting.) Carlock say fit this directly to the battery which to me is crazy, any bike thief will see that, then trace the wires and it will be dumped in seconds. I fitted mine within the gubbins of the front fairing so took it all apart found a constant live wire and a good earth and velcroed it flat pointing to the sky. Without ripping it apart you won't see or find it Usage: First of all I do not use this scooter everyday and this is where some issues have arisen. You can auto set the alarm so it comes on 5 mins after you have stopped. So it's always active ( great idea ) but .. when you get back on the bike it doesn't know you are on it again and will start sending alerts to the app if you don't turn it off. So you need to turn it off before you get back on no huge big deal. Now .. my problems arose here. I don't use this bike every day .I have several bikes (but will come to that in a moment). I found within a few days the battery was getting flat , being drained by the unit which was no good to me at all. It was then I discovered that you can schedule the alarm ( good idea ) so I scheduled it active from 11:00 at night to 7 in the morning . Better but still drains your battery. Now this is a brand new Yuasa 11amp hour battery not a cheap one. So while I think the unit is good, the app it comes with is good and I like that the notification for theft vibration etc is not android notification it is a good old lound alert sound alas this unit it really isn't for me. In my opinion it's more geared for cars or it's geared for guys that ride the same bike every day and if you do it's a great unit. In contrast on my Kawasaki I have a bike trac ( all trac tracker ) specifically for bikes, I recently was away for nearly a month and it did not drain, it was low but did not drain and the bike started first time I'm still signed up to the monthly charge for monitoring which is think is about £6.95 which really in my opinion is too much money. My latest bike a CFMoto 800MT comes with a tracking system built in ! Why don't all bike manufacturers do that. Easy to fit. ( If you do it properly ) good app, loud notification, battery drainage of bike not good, tracker doesn't know you are back on your bike ..not good, unsuitable for bikes if you only ride them once or twice a week.

Pienamente soddisfatto, avvisa quando c'è una vibrazione, tipo chiusura porta,avviamento motore,soprattutto traccia ultimo spostamento in modo dettagliato. Avvisi sonori efficaci,con tutti i dettagli del viaggio. Ne ho preso subito un altro per la moto. Ottimo

Fiabilité et précision, offre une localisation très précise, ce qui me permet de savoir exactement où se trouve mon véhicule à tout moment. Facilité d’utilisation L’installation a été un jeu d’enfant, même pour quelqu’un qui n’est pas très à l’aise avec la technologie. L’application associée est intuitive et conviviale. C’est un excellent outil pour la sécurité de mon véhicule. Je peux partir en voyage l’esprit tranquille. Un excellent investissement pour protéger son véhicule à un coût très raisonnable. Les fonctionnalités proposées sont bien supérieures à ce que j’attendais pour ce prix. J’adore la fonctionnalité de géorepérage, qui m’alerte si le véhicule sort d’une zone prédéfinie. Le suivi en temps réel est vraiment impressionnant et très utile.

Installé sur une Seat. Très facile d'installation. Attention, il faut souscrire un abonnement. J'ai pris le forfait annuel à 96 euros. La voiture est localisée toutes les 30 secondes. Application Android très bien faite. Localisation précise à 5 mètres près. Attention toutefois, je n'ai pas installé le boîtier sur la batterie comme préconisé. Au dessus il y a le capot, en métal. Pas bon pour le signal GPS. Bref, très bon rapport qualité-prix
