THE GRAND 1000-Thread-Count 100% Cotton King Sheet Set, White

This purchase has to be the most convoluted I've ever made from Amazon. I own a set of the sheets advertised here and they are the best sheets I've ever owned...so when I decided to buy another set, I was not willing to settle for anything different.I originally placed my order with the default source, Egyptian Cotton Factory Outlet Store. My order date was July 13th and it delivered on July 19th. However, I did not receive the sheets I ordered. They were 1000 thread count sheets, but they were not the correct brand and they were striped rather than solid. I contacted the seller and he sent me a shipping label to return the sheets and gave me a refund after he received them. PLEASE NOTE: I told him that I still wanted the sheets I originally ordered and he said that they are not available. I then told him that he really needs to remove his company as a supplier for this product if he does not have the ability to sell or ship the item being advertised. He said he would make the necessary adjustments. But today is now August 27th and he is still listed as the default supplier. In other words, he knows he cannot provide this item and is still allowing people to order it from him. I don't know what you want to call that, but it seems fraudulent to me.So, since I still wanted the sheets, I decided to place the order with the secondary source listed here on Amazon, World-Class Linens. I placed this order in August 4th and received the sheets on August 23rd. They were forthright about the long wait up front when I placed the order, but I was willing to wait for the right item. Unfortunately, this set was also wrong. The sheet I received this time are the brand name Pearl Bedding, not The Grand (or Hotel Grand) as advertised in the item description. This was a total disappointment after waiting so long and going through this once already. I would like to point out that when I contacted this seller about the problem, they only asked for a picture of what I received and then issued a refund right away without asking for the product to be returned. I appreciated this customer service and it eased my anger some about the whole situation. But that is where my positive comments end. I took the Pearl Bedding sheets out of the package and tested them on my bed.... The fitted sheet is extra deep and fits well, but the flat sheet barely comes 2 inches over the top of the mattress on each side - so there is no way at all to have a folded corner or to tuck this sheet in at all. The item description says the flat sheet will fit up to a 19in deep mattress. And if these sheets are actually 1000 thread count, then I'm a monkey's uncle. A thread count that high in a sateen cotton should result in a very thick sheet that is almost the thickness of duck cloth or canvas and has to be washed several times to soften them up. These sheets have no structure to them at all - more similar to a jersey sheet.So after 6 weeks of messing around with this and still having no sheets to show for it, I went to Overstock.com and ordered the sheets there. I'm HOPING I get the right thing this time, but they have not arrived so the jury is still out...

These are horrible sheets. For 1000 TC they are scratchy and so wrinkly. I have never used them and would like to return them but cannot get anyone to answer my requests. I still have all the paperwork. Amazon should consider not using this vendor. I buy sheets all the time and probably own 25 sets. It is a little excessive...understood, however, I am home economist and seamstress and for what these sheets proclaim to be...THEY ARE NOT!!

I thought that since these were 1000 thread count sheets they would be soft. They are not soft at all. In fact, they pretty rough. Also, when they arrived they smelled horrible. I washed them to see if it would help with the softness and the smell. The smell was pretty much gone, but the texture did not improve. I am returning.

I have purchased 2 of these sets. The first set has the Melrose Collection tag & a made in China tag on the flat sheet, fitted sheet & pillow cases purchased this set directly from Amazon as the seller.The second set purchased from a private seller that sells on Amazon, these sheets are not the same as the first. They don't have Melrose Collection posted any where on them, not on the packaging or sheets. The tag on the sheet says made in china, which is also different than the first set. The seams are not the same, real noticable on the pillowcases & flat sheet. Color is the same ivory. Sheets don't feel the same either, feel a bit lighter. I absolutely loved the first set purchased from Amazon with the Melrose Collection tag. They have been washed & dried several times over the years & hold up well, no shrinkage I wash on warm, rinse on cold, never use bleach because of the discoloration warning from other buyers. They are perfect for all seasons, we live in central upstate NY, are wonderful for those hot summer nights where you just need a sheet. Nice, cozy & comfortable, I love the feel against your skin, mmm....don't want to get out of them in the morning is the only problem. However, in the winter months I've heard flannel or fleece are wonderful, currently we have an electric mattress pad, I've heard that if you use the fleece sheets you no longer would need the electric mattress pad but don't actually know that for a fact, just hear say. These new ones I washed the same way, no shrinkage or discoloration, but there is a couple pulls noticable on the pillowcase. Overall satisfied so far with my second set, question if they are really from the Melrose Collection or are just "Grand 1000 Thread Count" made in China being sold under the Melrose Collection name. They do fit oversized mattresses, the pillowcases are king, the price is right & they are as comfortable as my first set, just material feels a bit lighter. Hope the second set of sheets last & hold up as nice as the first ones.Rated 4 stars due to the difference in both sets of sheets being so noticeable & inconsistent.

These sheets are not quite as amazing as I had hoped, but that was just a misjudgement on my part about how 1,000 thread count sheets may feel like. I don't have anything else to compare them to, but I do have to say that I'm really enjoying them so far. Comes with a fitted sheet, a flat sheet and two pillow cases. Running them through the wash twice so far has made them softer each time.These wont disappoint, but they aren't the end-all. Good choice if you are looking for some nice quality sheets without breaking the bank.

These sheets are just as described. Very soft and thick
