Unlike other companies that use chemicals, Nutiva Refined Coconut Oil is made though a steam refining process. Absolutely no chemicals are used! The benefit of refined coconut oil is that it has a higher smoke point than virgin coconut oil. You can cook with it at up to 400°F (versus 350°F for virgin coconut oil). Mold!
I purchased this coconut oil about one month ago, and I use it daily, however, today I went to use it and I found mold growing throughout it!! I have been using coconut oil for YEARS and buying it in bulk, like this one, yet I have NEVER had mold growing in it! I'm not sure if it is super old or rancid or what, but I'm disappointed I have to waste the rest.

Serious quality control issues!!
This is my second time ordering this oil. The first time it was great. The second time it was rancid. Oil was yellowish brown and had a thin film on top of the otherwise liquid oil. Ambient temperature was well above melting point, so nothing solid should have been floating. Needless to say, I won't be buying this again.

Leaked and can’t return.
Showed up with oil spilled all over the box. Usual good quality and I buy it constantly however with the deal obsviously not working this time and it’s not eligible for return I am very upset. Will edit my review of customer service reaches out with a solution.

Whats not to like
I have purchased this brand of coconut oil now twice and I am about to order my third. Have had great experience with this seller. My second bucket of oil came during the summer and was melted in the box, I contacted the seller and they refunded my money. I did not ask for a refund but just wanted them to know that UPS did not handle it properly and it spilled out. I still used it and I love this product for baking, frying and beauty treatments, it is a product that I highly recommend.

Great for cooking
Gonna keep reordering this. One bucket lasts us two months. Great for cooking, no coconut taste, so doesn't re-flavor familiar foods. Super in keto-fudge. Price is great. Delivery to your door. What's not to like?

I'm sure this coconut oil is good. I sometimes feel like there's amazon trickery. I don't buy organic a lot and would've never bought this for 37$. I was very happy with 18$ coconut oil. Now it's not available.

Glad I bought this through the gallon! Me and my kids goes through this stuff only for our hair! lol I don't use this to cook with.

Great value, I love refined oil because it’s smooth and odorless
Love this coconut oil. This brand refines the oil by steaming, not bleaching, so it’s safe. Because of the refinement u get a nice smooth product that doesn’t smell like anything much, and it has the same nutrition profile as unrefined. I buy this once a year to refill smaller tubs!
