Well thought out and useful data logger
The logger itself is simple and works very well, with a calibration certificate. The downloadable software is really good. For the money this is exceptional value.

Good Value Temperature Logging
My initial impression when unpacking was that it looked cheaply made. One of the battery contacts was bent which meant the battery could not initially be inserted until I had corrected this. When I used it for the first time I realised that this was however excellent value for money and works, hence the reeson for 5 stars. The accuracy is within the tolerances specified, and the software mostly works. No disk is supplied however it was not problem downloading it via the supplied link. I'm using the Mac version on a MacBook Air. The software is not perfect, however it does record the temperatures over time. (for some reason the graph curve doesn't exactly match the temperatures populated in the table). I've also changed the time between measurements and found it doesn't always accept the change, even though it was saved. Overall however it's an excellent tool for giving an indication of temperature changes over time, useful for optimising my central heating, and at a very good price.

You get what you pay for!
I bought this product, and at around the same time another with similar functionality but sold at about twice the price. It's hardly surprising, but perhaps gratifying, that the more expensive product turned out to be easier to use and generally felt and looked higher quality. With that out of the way, I'm happy to report that Elitech data logger does what I bought it to do, which is record temperature and relative humidity in my house. I managed to download the software from the US site, the only issue being that I had to go into the Security settings on my Mac to get it to load; I think this relates to the verification signature on the software being out of date. I like the ability to adjust the data logging frequency. I don't like the fact that the exported Excel data file has the sensor readings formatted as text rather than number, which means an error is thrown when you want to make a plot in Excel. Easily fixed manually in a small data file, but I wouldn't enjoy dealing with two weeks worth of data. General look and feel is a bit dated, both the device and the software. Instructions okay, but felt what I ended up doing was not quite the same as what they told me to do. Functionality is as advertised, and seems to work fine, although I've not done comparisons/calibrations so can't comment on the accuracy. Haven't had it long enough to comment on battery life either. I'd be cautious about using out of doors where rain might be an issue. Would I buy another? It depends on what I wanted to do. For a one-off application where cost was a major concern, probably yes. For a multi-sensor project, like monitoring several rooms and outdoors simultaneously, probably not; I'd go for a product where the software was a bit more up to date in look & feel, and which seamlessly handled data from multiple sensors.

Buy cheap buy twice
Should have known better but for some reason it had good reviews. Just doesn’t work.

Good Price to quality balance- Great value
It works perfectly and suitable for what I was looking for. I downloaded the software from Elitech website and figured it out how to set custom intervals etc... easily. No problem so far.

Easy to use
Very easy to set up Small and neat Takes a temperature reading at a defined interval. When you want to see the results, plug device into USB on your laptop and it connects to software. Software (supplied/downloaded from web) shows graphs and tables and has good functionality for export etc Seems to be accurate I attached a bit of sticky velcro to it so I can take it off the wall when I want to review the data
