Great expansion!
You can't go wrong with this Cosmic encounter expansion! It adds even more replayability to a game that is already almost endless in its' possibilities. If you play with this expansion, I would recommend replacing the aliens in the original game for the first few playthroughs so you get the most out of this experience, and then later on eventually mixing everything together. The chaotic nature of this game is actually what makes it so exciting; you never know who is going to win, even up to the last turn.

Sadly, the weakest of the 4 expansions.
Cosmic Storm is the fourth (but not final) expansion to the Cosmic Encounter board game. It is interesting, a few of the aliens have competitive powers, and the space stations variant is yet another deck of cards and more added mayhem. The game came with:25 new alien powers25 corresponding alien flares10 space station cards10 corresponding space station piecesThis would be a solid expansion, if it weren't for a few things that really make me hesitate to like it.-The artwork is not consistent with Cosmic Encounter artwork in the past. I may sound picky for this, but the artwork done on the space station cards and pieces is very cartoony - not like the semi seriousness that the game had before.-The space station variant is way too unbalanced. When you draw a card, you can get something as amazing as a second alien power, or simply get to choose which planet in your home system that the offense attacks. Since you only get one card you can't pick the strongest (like you can with alien powers). It just ends up overpowering one of the players and screwing over the rest.-The rules for space stations aren't 100% clear. I've played with them 13 times now, and every single time i've used them there have been disputes on how they work. Disputes that are not really solved by the lacking instructions.-Most of the 25 alien powers are not playable. By this I mean that if you were dealt a power from CS, a power from CC, and a power from the original game, you would (with a couple exceptions) pick the alien from CC or the original game. Some of the aliens really aren't even meant to be played, but instead were made as jokes and references. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with some of the references that CE has made in the past. However, in the past, they have always been well worked into the game. Smooth. Things like the "It's Full Of Stars..." Hazard and the "Spiff" alien. Or the "Genesis Bomb" Tech. They are all useful and if you don't know what they are from, you wouldn't get them. The new alien called the "Vox" is funny, sure, but it just really isn't CE material.-The expansion did not include a player color. All three previous ones (Conflict, Incursion, Alliance) have all included a player color. We got Orange, Black, and White. Now we get nothing. I was hoping for brown or something. And not so that we can have a game of 9 people, but simply so that in a game of 8 someone could still use aliens that require a second player color. like "Symbiote".In my opinion, Cosmic Encounter is the best board game, ever. Cosmic Conflict was great. Cosmic Incursion was awesome. Cosmic Alliance was solid. Cosmic Storm is weak compared to the rest of the game, and I usually don't even include the space stations when I play. I'm holding out hope for the 5th expansion, which is based off of fan aliens and fan ideas.

I love all the expansions. they always provide more ways to play this game. the game is so big now, I had to expand into a bigger box! always fun if you can get people to learn. strategy and diplomacy at it's finest.

More aliens and some interesting alternate mechanics with the Satellites.
This is not my favorite expansion for Cosmic Encounter, but it completed the collection and did bring even more aliens to ensure you never play the same game twice.Give the satellites a try and you may enjoy them more than I do. That is going to come down to personal taste.

Awesome product!
Great art work on the cards, high quality printing.Adds some cool new additions to the game.My only problem was that 1 or 2 of the alien powers is overpowered and MUST be modifiedin order to have a balanced game. ex. BruteMy suggestion is to buy one of the expansions that allow an extra player, 1st.But definitely worth a buy.

Worst of the Cosmic Encounter Expansions,
I bought this. It's OK. This expansion has more bad aliens than any previous expansion. In fact, the only ones I use in my game are Outlaw, Porcupine, Sneak, Scavenger, Converter, Worm, Squee, Wormhole, Vox (house-ruled to work on reinforcements), Tide, and Brute (I hate Brute, but my s/o loves it, so he stays in for now). This is easily the worst expansion for Cosmic Encounter. Don't get me wrong though, it's not terrible. Just not great either. I would recommend buying this one after you have bought the other expansions and if you really feel that you need the 10 or so playable aliens that are included.
