Good value here
I use these blocks to build lazy jacks for my Carolina Cradles. They are priced right and are every bit as good as the big brands

Very Small, Very Tough
High quality materials and nice workmanship. I was surprised at the size, 17mm is only slightly larger than 5/8 of an inch, smaller by far than one inch! Of course, I'm able to do the math so my surprise turned to realization. I thought these were for an actual full size man carrying sailboat! They have enough quality and strength (within manufacturer's limits) but I think they are intended for something else, like window shades.I am using them in a pulley system to hoist a large container for storage. The container weighs about 50 pounds. I will use a 4:1 pulley system so the load will be distributed. I have 5/32 cord rated at over 100 pounds working strength. I also have 3/16 cord rated somewhat higher that also fits nicely on the pulley. If I were to do this again, just for the appearances, I would get the 25mm size. Even at the 17mm size, these pulleys might be good for light loads on boats, like outhaul lines, possibly for travelers.

Cheap version of a Harken block
Good looking little block but you can see some tooling marks on the block, unlike the Harken version that looks perfect. But I bought it because I didn't want to spend the money on Harken ($4.70 vs 17.40) and the boat was going to be sold. It says the blocks working load is 661 lb which is better than Harken.
