KONOVA New Motorized System KMS S2 for Live Motion and Timelapse Compatible with All Konova Sliders

I was very glad to discover this product. I had the 80cm Konova slider and was happy with it. But this small, quiet motor that fits on all Konova products was a no-brainer. It’s well made and easy to put together. The remote is easy to use, if a little noisy when in manual mode, but auto mode is great and has a loop function. A few cons: it’s not completely silent, as it ramps down, or goes really slow — a high-pitched whine comes out. If you’re careful with placement of mics, and keep some distance from the mic, you should be ok. The other issue is the belt is detachable for transport, however you need a special safe place to keep the belt as to not crimp it and cause a bend in the belt - that will cause a bump when the motor pulls over the crimp. One other thing to take note of is letting Konova know what shutter release you need — it ships with a Canon. Supposedly there is a place to let them know which one — but I got it from Amazon, and didn’t see a place to let them know which release to order. I suggest getting extra batteries, as it doesn’t ship with any.

Just not sure how long it will last

This kit is incredibly simple to use and has ONE screw - the rest is all by hand.You have a little metal strip bracket that screws onto the slider head mount. The rest are all done by hand - well the belt you tighten with an included Allen Wrench.The motion of the motor is super smooth, you can set the duration it will go from point A to point B. You can choose to have a ramp up/ramp down to the ends for extra smoothness.Motion time lapse is also possible.To think, they built sliders with future compatibility with this motor. Amazing!Getting the Master Pan next.Lastly:I cannot hear the motor at all, I see other reviews with complaints about that aspect. Also, any professional production will not be using the built in microphone on the camera- the notion is ridiculous.

Nearly returned it since it's not usable for corporate interviews. It isn't that I can't remove the noise from the track recorded on a $2,000 mic/recorder combo. It's that the inexperienced speakers are distracted by the hum (so are clients).However, it works fine for recordings of experienced speakers and videos where we are blasting music anyway or when it's placed very far away with a 105mm lens.Pros: It's smooth, easy to set up, user friendly and a good value.

I have owned Konova sliders for a few years now, nothing but good things to say, until recently, I bought the motor for the slider and now have nothing but great things to say. I am absolutely in love with the motor. So much, that I now am going to buy a longer version to make my time lapses even better. A must have and highly recommended.

Easy of use

Nothing adds production value like a moving camera. The Kanvova system, including the slider, this motor and the pan device, effectively adds dolly moves to your production in auto-pilot. A great system.
