Minnetonka Women's Double Deerskin Softsole Moccasin

To preserve restored floors, we do not wear street shoes in the house. I’ve had one other pair of these Minnetonka deerskin in the past and wore them for almost two decades until I left them behind while traveling. I tried five other slippers/house shoes. Even sneakers. Either they wore out quickly or were not as comfortable. When I came across these familiar soles, there was no hesitation. These are warm, they mold to my feet, the value for how long they last is incredible, and they are beautiful one day one to two decades later. I love how they fit. I love how soft as butter they feel. Sometimes I have forgotten I had them on and have left the house with them. So yes they are versatile in that they feel good on gravel, concrete, store tiles, hardwood, etc. the soles are not super padded like memory foam. There is some at the bottom and a little more at the arches. The type of leather and the way they are cut is what makes them incredibly comfortable. For someone like me who has lived with multiple hip surgeries and chronic back pain, these are a dream. I plan to buy a second pair as my outside shoes. And literally donate most of my other shoes.

So far I love these moccasins. They were exactly what I was hoping for. I like that I can wear them out if the house and not look like such a bum as if I were wearing slippers.These shoes have zero break in time they fit like a glove and are ultra comfortable. They are lightweight - they keep your feet warm. I've worn mine sock less and with a very thin sock for extra warmth on really cold days.They are easy to clean - I wipe the bottoms of mine down with a damp paper towel to get some of the nasties off. I also routinely wipe the insides of the shoe out to keep funky foot odor at bay since they WILL make your feet sweaty in hot weather with no sock. However the deerskin was treated is not breathable like suede is. I've worn them on pavement, grass, wet pavement (water does soak through pretty fast and you will feel a little moisture) and indoors. I wear them outside quite a lot and I've walked miles in them. The bottom will eventually get scuffed up where the pressure points are, but the leather thoughens up and is very durable.They do loosen up a bit after wearingfor so long, but maybe a half size tops. They'll loosen sideways first and then a little lengthwise. I think they fit pretty true to size overall and I am glad I did not follow the other reviews and size DOWN a size. I definitely would have had to exchange for the right size had I done that.Excellent purchase. I recommend these to anyone that likes flat shoes, sandals, or walking barefoot.

I love these moccasins. They are well made pig good quality and fit perfect.

Don't be afraid of the fact that they don't come in wide. Since there is not artificial sole on them, they are comfortable to walk on if your foot is wide. They quickly fit your food like a second skin, which is what I need for balance and help to feel the floor. If you have balance issues this is an ideal slipper. The deerskin is exceptionally soft and warm without being hot in the summer. (They haven't eliminated my barefoot preference but they are just right for slippers that don't have hot sheepskin in them.

Second pair I bought. First pair bought about 15 years ago. Best footwear I have ever worn.

Within a month after starting to wear these moccasins, probably 1/3 of the bottom has worn away. Gone. No deerskin whatsoever. Just flaked off. I had tried these on when I first got them, and they were tight. Put 'em on a shelf for a long time before I wore them. When the finished wore off so quickly, I emailed Minnetonka Moccasin and they basically said too bad, you're out of warranty. Offered me 10%+free shipping on my next order, to which I replied that I wouldn't need that because I'll never buy the product again. Horrible product, horrible customer service. Save your money. I really don't like writing negative reviews, but this company deserves to have their policy known. I lived in Minnesota for many years and have had their moccasins before, but their quality is crap now. Avoid.
