Nice, but...
Its a neat device, but its battery life when off is poor, it uses a non standard charge cord which is a pain in the butt and the on off switch gets tripped easily which means its recording when it shouldn't and isn't when it should.

rail cam
I haven't taken it shooting yet but after examining this is what I observed.Pro: -ease of use -included micro sd and adapter -fair video quality. Have not had a chance to use it outdoor. -Con: -constructed of low quality plastic -lower rail is useless because the grooves are too shallow. -micro sd adapter didn't work. had to connect camera to pc via usb. -to charge it I had to remove from rail because wire would not fit between device and trigger guard on handgun. (should work fine on rifle) -do not attempt to force anything on bottom rail. It will pop off exposing device internals. -not standard micro usb as somebody stated. I think it's an 8 pin mini B connector. -came with CD to program clock on camera. It didn't work. Over all I personally think this is about a 2.5 star product. For all that I've seen that needs work, I believe it should be a little cheaper in price. I hope this review helps some of you on with your decision on purchasing this camera. I would love to have a hero camera but I'm not willing to spend hundreds of dollars on a mini camera when that can go towards a firearm.

Nice attachment
The video and audio quality was really good. After months at an indoor range with another camera not mounted to my gun, this made it easier to tell what gunshots came from my gun, and it worked well in poor lighting.

So Far, So Good
Received the product well in advance of when I expected it. I think it will prove to fill the ticket in the event I ever need to film an incident where it was necessary to prove what happened

great design, poor construction
OK for paintball or play but worthless for real use. If machined of metal would be cheap at twice the price, but this light weight plastic ruins everything.

Fun, and great for improving the "little things"
I bought this on a whim, for the novelty of watching some target practice from a first-person perspective.Physically, this is a tight camera (video and audio) that fits Picatinny and Weaver rails. It sometimes takes a little bit of finagling...I loosen the bolt until the "jaws" of the camera will slip over the edges of the rail and push it up onto the rail rather than trying to slide along the rail. Still, the grip is tight enough to hold fast with .45 ACP, .357 Magnum, and 12 ga 00 Buck. The camera is oriented toward hanging from rails, so if you have an upper or side rail, you're going to have to use software to turn the picture right-side-up, or crane your neck. It was a perfect fit, length-wise, on my Rhino, but extended past the frame of my 4.5 in XD(m)...but not past the front edge of the slide.I haven't been able to use it as a real-time camera, though I'm sure there are software geeks who could accomplish that; as it is, you use the camera, then download the video(s) after connecting it with the mini-USB-to-USB adapter/power cable. Each time you turn the camera on, that's a new video. The switch (two prongs on the back of the body of the camera) is really easy to use with a handgun. With both a pistol and a Rhino I was able to reach forward without overextending and tap it on and then off. There are no batteries to remove, though, so finding a hard case that prevents it from switching on in transit is a must (I'm still using the stiff plastic box it came in).The CoiTAC has provided that entertainment, and turns out to be pretty handy for improving my technique, too. I noticed a movement just prior to shooting, shifting my aim down and to the left just as I squeezed the trigger. Sure, I was consciously aware of this, but I wasn't aware just how much my aim shifted in the process. It won't change your stance, obviously, but it will tell you if your grip isn't steady enough, or maybe even if your sights are off.The audio component was neat. It's nice to be able to leave an audible memo before each magazine (load, shooter's name, etc.), though I doubt I'll do much of that; still, it's cool to be able to hear your shots even as you see them. This isn't Dolby Digital Audio, though, so you'll still have to invest in a high-quality mic (to record sound separately) if you want to become a shooting range opera singer. Also: A really loud voice. The video quality is good, but not perfect. If you want to publish or show off your videos, you'd be well-served by adjusting the contrast, saturation, etc.; mine come out looking kind of washed-out. For all of that, it's still a clear, steady picture (as steady as your hand), and you'll be able to see where you're shooting. In technical terms, it's a 640x480 pixels, 30 fps AVI file. The camera comes with a 2 GB card micro SD card. I just shot a 27-second video that takes up 14.5 MB, so just to throw in some Really Bad Math...that's about an hour's recording time on the card (which also matches the company's claims). I don't know if you could use a higher-capacity card. To give you an idea of what you'll see...with pistols, you probably won't see the barrel or slide unless you're sportin' something *huge*. The view is more interesting with long arms, though, as you'll see the barrel. As a final point, the software that comes with it is minimal. Just enough to update the time on the camera (don't want it blinkin' 12:00 forever!). Not impressive or slick, but it gets the job done, and you probably won't use it very often. If you want to clean up the video, that software is not included, but is pretty common. If you don't feel comfortable choosing said software on your own, contact your kids and/or local, neighborhood computer geek for assistance.A good tool that I plan on using to improve my shooting in the future. The price isn't cheap, for its entertainment value, but if you think you'll use it for more, it's well worth the price. For what it's worth, as far as I can tell, this camera is the same as the one sold by Tactical Deals (link). Compare 'em, but (at the time of this review) they have the same price and free shipping. Me? I got mine direct from the source.

Nice unit, but...
Nice unit, good price point (I paid $40/ on sale), but will not properly fit a Glock 19 (too long). Darn!
