Happy customer of five years
Before I was introduced to Glide by a dentist over five years ago, I had always been afraid of flossing. It was always next to impossible to get the floss between my rotten teeth, and then, it was even more impossible to actually do anything once the thread was in.Glide is lightly waxed and shaped perfect for the space between teeth. It's almost effortless to put it in between the teeth and equally effortless to pull it back and forth. I like the original Glide over the newer types (mint, easy plus, etc.), as it works better for me than the others. But all Glide floss products beat any other brand hands down.If you have been afraid of flossing or struggle with flossing every day, give Glide a try. There's no guarantee it'll work for you, but it's inexpensive and even if you can't use it, someone else you know might be able to. It's definitely make flossing an enjoyable habit out of me.

Just like the original.
As far as I am concerned, this product is a perfect duplicate of the original Gore floss. I actually have about half a roll of the original Gore floss to make a comparison. If you have teeth positioned tightly together,as I have , you must not draw the floss back and forth as you pull the floss down to the gum, otherwise you'll shear the floss, just pull straight down. I think this covers the reason some people think the newer floss is inferior to the old when it breaks. Also try rolling out more floss after just flossing the top or bottom of the jaw, the wax that acts as a lubricant , quickly wears off. Another trick that I've used for about 60 years is putting a knot in the floss to drag out the debris. I am always amazed that no one does this.

A Dentist Reviews This Product
As any dental health professional will attest to, flossing one's teeth is just as important as brushing, and perhaps more so, for the bacteria that causes gum disease (and to a certain extent cavities) almost always starts between the teeth. Daily flossing breaks up the film of harmful bacteria and allows it to be removed. Therefore, as a dentist, I am always stressing the importance of daily flosing to my patients. My advice is this:1. Choose a floss that is comfortable to you and is the right thickness for your teeth. Some people prefer floss holders rather than wrapping the floss around the fingers, while others prefer thin flavored floss to waxed thick floss. There are so many options - choose the right one for you.2. Waxed floss is "waxed" to allow easier passage between the teeth. Waxed floss is no more effective than unwaxed at removing the bacterial film build-up. The important thing is to floss!3. Floss once daily, preferably before brushing. Flossing breaks up the film of bacteria between the teeth in areas a toothbrush cannot reach. It is important to then brush the teeth and rinse between the teeth to remove the film of bacteria that the flossing has dislodged. Without brushing or rinsing after flossing, the bacteria can reattach to the teeth.4. Try to tie in flossing with another habit, such as watching the 10 PM news. I know it sounds strange, but incorporating flossing into another habit leads one into developing a new habit. Some complain that they don't have time to floss; well, if flossing is tied into another habit, such as watching TV, both can easily be done concurrently.5. There are many gimmicks the manufacturers use to sell their particular brand of floss. Some flavor the floss, some incorporate fluoride into the strands of floss, and some make their floss more slippery for folks with tight contacts. Whatever the case, the most important point is to choose a floss variety you will use regularly. It is the mechanical act of removing the bacterial flim that is the important part, not the flavoring or chemical additions to the floss.6. If you want to keep your teeth for a life-time, develop the flossing habit. As one wise sage said: "If you ignore your teeth, they will eventually go away".I recommend this product. Glide-brand floss is definitely easier to pass between teeth than regular floss. If you teeth contacts are tough to floss then this is the floss for you!Jim "Konedog" Koenig, DDS

Easy to use, BUT if you want really clean your teeth, you should use other brand that is not made of teflon
Like many customrs, I like Glide intially because it is easy to get inbetween your teeth, and slide in and out without much effort. But,after removing a tooth a few years ago, food easily got stuck inbetween my teeth near that region. I found that I need extra effort using Glide to get food scrap out as compared to traditional dental floss. Food scraps stick to traditional dental floss easier that to Glide, and hence can be removed with less flossing. The same reason makes Glide easy to use is exactly the same reason makes its in-effective in cleaning. Glide is made of Teflon material that is the same material made of non-sticky cooking utensil. Teflon is strong, but very slippery, non-sticking. That is why you can floss without fuss. But, would you buy a slippery scraping pad or use ice cubes to scrape your floor or bath tub ? To remove flood scraps or plague inbetween the teeth, you definitely want something less slippery, and let food scraps/plague stick to the floss surface better. 'No pain, no gain' is true in this case, don't let high tech hypes and marketing tricks fool you otherwise. My point is that I have spent money, time and effort to floss faithfully everyday, I want to wring a worthy cleaning power out of each flossing move, I would use traditional floss material. Another point is that Glide is so slippery on my finger that I have to use longer floss to wind a few more rounds on my finger to hold it. Unfortunately, Glide is more pricey than other tradition floss brands, and they get selling more of their stuff. An advice for those who have severe dental conditions that require a good flossing everyday, you should stay away from Glide.
