Essential part of cleaning your AR, but be aware of military threading
A chamber brush is a requisite tool in your cleaning kit due to its unique shape.1. Screw the brush into the handle section of a G.I. style cleaning rod. A G.I rod is necessary because of its military style 8-36 threads, unlike the 8-32 threads that are common on commercial cleaning rods and accessories. Only the handle section of the rod is usually needed because its length is sufficient to position the brush into the chamber.2. Remove the bolt carrier from the rifle, lubricate the brush with whatever bore cleaner you're using, seat it down into the chamber and twist like you would a screwdriver (minus the driving pressure). This is another area where the G.I. rod is necessary due to its T-shaped foldout handle. The construction allows you to twist the brush, rather than the free-spinning handles most comercial cleaning rods utilize. After several turns, remove the brush and clean the now broken up material that was caked in your chamber. You can find G.I. style cleaning kits elsewhere on Amazon. But if you're looking for just a G.I. cleaning rod, check your local Army/Navy Surplus, Gunshows or your local dealer. Don't count on Walmart, BassPro, etc. to stock them.

Poor description
I am unable to even use the bore brush. The brush will not fit my current cleaning rod nor any commercial rod. It is the wrong screw thread for them and made for military cleaning rod threads. Errg. Very poor description or lack of information whichever way you want to look at it. This threading problem could have been taken care of in the description and I and others would have looked elsewhere to find one instead of buying the wrong one. Now I will have to decide whether or not to buy a special cleaning rod just to fit this item or scrap it and buy all new brush. Either way I am out money. Beware and shop better informed than I was when I purchased this item.

not bad
When i bought this i had inteded on using it for my m4. However it served a greater purpose when i used it to clean some corrosion off of a mosin nagant. I didn't have it that long but it seemed to me like a tool that is very helpful in cleaning the chamber area. Also quick heads-up. This is not a standard threading, it will not work with your basic made in china wal-mart cleaning kit

A must have
I thought this would get all the gunk out of receiver lugs but there's still picking and scraping to do, although not nearly as much as without it. I don't think you can be too anal about gun maint.. Would recommend it but by a few, just in case I stop by and stomp on your only 1 like I did mine. It does take some of hassle out of cleaning. A must have.

Good decent chamber brush
Not a whole lot to say about it other then it works just fine and seems to be of a decent build quality. Needed to pick one up and was a few dollars short for super saver on another item, so it worked out. Would recommend.

Time saver.
I attached this brush to a cleaning rod, then to my drill. Filled the chamber with foaming bore scrubber, let it set a few minutes, then ran this in the chamber for 30 seconds. Ran several large patches around the chamber, oiled well, and done.I'm going to order several more to have on-hand. Very handy cleaning tool.
