We own a few different hot dots sets but I really liked this one a lot especially for my 5 year old. It includes a lesson guide which includes very helpful tips and activities. I have been looking for different ways to teach my 5 year old how to read and she doesn’t like doing flash cards so this phonics set is the perfect way to teach her how to read in a fun way. There are 5 sets of cards that focus on different areas: short vowels, alphabet sound, long vowels, blends & digraphs & reading comprehension. My daughter stays engaged with this set and loves using the Ace pen to select her answer. I love that she is still learning while being home and I can help her how to read by using this awesome phonics set. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun way to teach reading.

My 4 year old loves this. He gets so excited when he hears the sound that his answer is correct. It has helped him learn his letters and patterns. The pen is pretty durable. It does make learning fun for him

Got here a lot faster than the orders straight from Amazon right now (Go to "Other new and used options" below the add to cart button and choose a different seller with free shipping!).Its super fun and a great way to learn phonics and reading and I love that it comes with a parent book to tell parents how to motivate the kids and gives other ideas.BUT I hate how the cards just come loose, not attached to each other. They could have put them on a ring or a spiral book but instead they do then flash card style. Bound to get lost, mixed up, separated...One last comment.. don't try to push your child into reading until they're ready. They will start to resent learning instead.

Love that the cards are on the front and back and is very accurate to the touch. This is great for new readers and kids who struggle with learning sounds of letters and how they "fit" together. This definitely needs to be something all young children have at their fingertips for learning!

I searched for something easy, yet engaging to motivate my kindergartner to practice his letter sounds and reading comprehension. My five year old loves this new gadget! Some of the cards are great review, while others he needs adult help or guidance. My only suggestion would be for the cards to be attached to one another with one ring. My kid doesn't mind that they are loose, but I definitely do bc they end up all over the floor. Lol.

I like it but don't love it ! I wish it could read , say words on the cards or something like that . My son doesn't enjoy it

I love that there was a variety of cards included. All the different categories were sealed separately, which is great. I have only opened the cards that my son is ready for.

I love this product. I have purchased these educational sets to increase learning in younger children. They enjoy using it because the pen talks and keeps them engaged.
