Great value, good sound!
For $36 dollars I have to admit I wasn't expecting this to sound relatively like what expensive sub systems sound like. but boy, was I very, very wrong. I read all of the reviews and was a little hasty about purchasing the tube, but decided to anyway. I received the product three days after ordering and received the amp and wiring kit (that I bough from Amazon as well) two days after that. I went to my local Best Buy to have it installed, although i probably could have done so myself, i took it in anyway, solely because it is their job to do such things and I'm simply a guy who does weekend hobby things, the amp and tube both came with easy to read instructions. Best Buy had it installed in exactly an hour and a half. When I got in my truck (ford ranger xlt)it didn't sound as nice as expected, even with low expectations, but after pondering on the poor quality I came across that they had messed with my head unit and changed some settings. so getting that all fixed, I tried again, and BOOM Amazing Bass For relatively low money. It'll hit pretty hard, nowhere near a thousand dollar system but that's not the reason I bought it anyway I just wanted a full range in my little truck. And that's what I got! Anyway... I guess what I'm trying to say is, If you want Bass you can feel and hear well, and at the same time not look like A total D-Bag this is a great buy for you! As long as you have it installed properly!

Pyle PLTB8 8-Inch 400 Watt Carpeted Subwoofer Tube
I bought this subwoofer because of the fact it has its own enclosure and that it was of a decent price and size. Keep in mind though i do not have this hooked up to an amp but rather just in parallel with a 6.75 stock delco speaker for my 1990 pontiac lemans and hooked up to a Boss 612UA which puts out 50 watts per channel. The enclosure is very solid and it is weighty. The speaker grill is really thick so it will protect the cone. The carpeting is done very nicely. The port is on the opposite side of the woofer which is about 3.5 inches. The actual woofer sounds great as it will kick nicely even with the low watts (i wouldn't recommend running this over 150 watts RMS) it as a deep bass for my sound system and will fill the entire cabin with deep loud bass. Also the rubber around the cone is extremely thick so i have a feeling this will hold up great. When i crank my receiver when the other speakers are struggling this one will keep going no trouble. I highly recommend this woofer.

Puts out some seriously low bass
Update: I ran this speaker for a very short time. I returned the amp (Boss) I had and got an Alpine A-M60S witch puts out just under 400watts at 4 ohm. The speaker was a little louder and fuller, but it couldn't handle the power and blew. So I reached out to the manufacturer and went through the process. They them tried to tell me that it can only handle 300W RMS. I explained to them that I had an email from them stating that the speaker could handle 400W. They back stepped and offered to replace the unit for free. After consideration I decided to ditch the speaker that blew and bought a nice Toro speaker that could handle the power. What a difference! This speaker is an introductory speaker for those looking for something else besides their stock speakers. But, FYI- it can only handle around 300W.Installed this thing the other day and it sounds pretty good! Was running it off a piece of garbageBoss amp that does it no justice. I'm sure I was under-powering it so it sounded a little bit lacking in punch. The frequency range sounds perfect though... produces great sound especially the super lows.. it makes you 'feel' the lows to a point where you feel it more than you hear it. Pretty crazy! I will update this review when I get a better amp that will do it justice! FYI - if you are wondering what its true RMS power handling is, I reached out to the manufacturer and asked. They said that its true RMS power handling is actually the 400 watts its listed as! So, no lies from Pyle on what its capable of. They didn't over-rate its abilities (per Plyle, we'll see when I get an better amp that will push it a little more).

It didn't sound too bad and after reading all the reveiws I already rewired ...
This thing really is a pyle! I hooked it up to a 200 watt max amp although I think it is overated for power. It didn't sound too bad and after reading all the reveiws I already rewired the box before hooking it up using 14 guage wire. I also have had a lot of different subs in the past but I just wanted something to fill in the lows in the family wagon. I only turned the gain up 50% and adjusted the bass on my supertuner to 0. It worked o.k. but sounded muddy. I wrote that off to the band pass box. I always have preferred rockford fosgate 12" subs in a sealed box with lots of power, but like I said I was trying to save space. I listened to it for about fifteen minutes and shut it off. The next morning I was driving to work alone and decided to jam out some Ice Cube to see how they performed. I work about 5 blocks from home. When I pulled into the parking lot I turned it up a little to see if my boss would appreciate it, but all of a sudden crackle crackle crackle. I kind of knew this sub was going to be a peice of crap, but I was not expecting on replacing it the first week. I was planning on using it for a while the upgrading and reusing the box and grill. anyway...I HAD to order a polk 8" sub for 50$ to fix it.Boy, I remember when pyle drivers used to be right up there, I guess over the past 10-15 years the really went down the crapper.DO NOT BUY THIS UNLESS YOU ARE BUYING A NEW SPEAKER RIGHT NOW. If you are planning on jamming out ever this speaker will not hold up to even 100 watts.Oh yeah, I had to take the fuse out of my amp for now to avoid blowing it up. I hope polk audio speakers still rock.
