TEC TC-450 Battery/AC Mobile Phono Preamp, Includes Optional AC Adaptor

I did a lot of research before deciding on a quality preamp for my turntable. I was looking for something that had a power switch and this is one of if not the only model I could find with one. It arrived quickly and was easy to set up. You have to do a bit of digging to find the product that ships WITH the power adapter, but the description tells you how to do that. I compared the sound quality between the built in preamp on the turn table and this, and there is a very noticeable difference. Pros: Small Battery operated or AC adapter Power on/off button Excellent sound quality Price Cons: none so far If you are looking for a solid and compact phono preamp, this is an excellent choice.

I'm currently using this for a portable turntable (Numark PT01 USB), after installing a custom tone arm and Shure M44-7 cartridge and stylus - works great for this application. It brings up to line level, the output of the Shure cartridge! Works great for portablists because it can function with a 9 volt battery, or using the device at home with an AC adapter. It has solid metal construction, but wish the screws were of better quality. Anyway, I still highly recommend this to portable turntablists/scratchers/djs!
