P300X1

This thing is powering one 12" sub (duel voice coil 4 ohm) which is perfect for my set up. Installation was no problem. No road noise at all, just solid BASS!

This is my second RF amp I have owned. The first one was also a 300W Punch amp I had purchased in 2001. I ran 2-12" subs with it up until 2015 when I finally sold the whole system with the car it was in. After having such longevity with my last RF amp, it was a no-brainer for me to stick with this brand. This amp is loaded with great features and the price isn't terrible. Highly recommend! My only complaint is that they do not include the remote PLC module with the amp.

This amp sounded great for about 2 months, and then it started failing every day when I drove home from work. My guess is that it’s overheating because it only fails after my car is parked for the day in the sun. I’ve taken temperature readings of it and found that it gets up to 45 degrees C when it shuts off, which seems very low for these kind of components. Long story short, I have mounted this amp in a way that it’s difficult to replace with a different brand because I would have to redrill holes, and I’m basically screwed because it’s past the return period. So I’m out $200 on an Amp which i expected to be premium quality that doesnt even function on my drive home from work. Very disappointing.

Rockford Amps always produce good results, the main thing is you match the power output with whatever speaker combination correctly and there shouldn't be any problem. These amps are solid and I have not had any problems with them. Great value and reliable product from Rockford Fosgate.

Maybe I'm the problem not the amp, but I dont think so. Granted I am not a very knowledgable amp guy but here is the situation. I hooked the amp up entirely, all in the normal way except I used the Rockford fosgate "RCA to speaker wire" adapter and hooked up the amp to the rear speakers for the RCA signal. The amp wouldnt turn on. I didnt know if the amp was DOA, maybe my ground sucked, I had no idea. I finally narrowed it down to the fact the rca signal was bad. Naturally I thought I did something wrong with how I connected them. But nope. After fooling with the stupid thing for an hour I accidentally touched the center pin (positive +) to the outside of the RCA female when I was trying to plug it in again and like magic, the stupid amp turned on. Okay, so I realized that the negative needed to be run to the center pin and the pos to the outside of the RCA. Im pretty sure that's backwards! But simple enough fix. So THEN I realized that I was only receiving a signal from the left channel. Its a mono amp, but it does take in the signal from 2 channels so if you pan the audio left or right you dont lose bass. On the side where I had no audio from the amp I hooked up the RCA to the other speaker wire even though I was actually pretty sure that it was the negative wire and that did fix it so maybe I had the neg mixed up with the pos. But with the amp receiving audio from both left and right rear speakers it does not play as loud. Dont get me wrong, it still plays plenty loud, but it REALLY bangs hard when only receiving one signal. Maybe that's a side effect of filtering 2 signals down into one? No idea. I thought maybe it was still out of phase but I literally tried all other speaker wire to RCA connections and the only other combo that will even turn the amp on is to connect it exactly opposite the way it is now (pressumably receiving signal from the negatives???) and it doesnt have any power when connected that way. So I am goinv to get a meter to make sure 100% I have the RCAs run to the pos rear speakers wires (negative are to be ground not run to speakers as per Rockford Fosgate). If it turns out that the amp is receiving the signal from both rear positive lines than all is good... aside from that backwards wired RCA female on it... but if come to find out I was initially correct about the left side and its now hooked up to the negative than this amp is seriously screwed up and I will be returning it. Another thing is that it "bumps" when I turn the car on or off. I dont think it will damage anything but it annoys me and a couple times now it has made noise through the sub while driving while volume was off or very low. Like tge occasional little bump noise. Maybe my ground sucks though, I cleaned it of paint but maybe its just a bad location. I am going to try another spot to ground it to when weather gets a tad better and I will reserve further judgement until then. its not all bad however, the clean setup is really nice, the feel of it is super, size is good, power is awesome, mine is 449 watts RMS!!! I definitely drives my p2d2 hard in fact I probably have to be careful with it (but i dont play music that loud anyway). I'm just not sure it is internallh wired correctly. In fact I see a couple other people say they received one DOA in these reviews, how much do you think I would bet that if he had accidentally hit the rca center pin to the shield of the female his amp would have kicked on??? One last thing, RFs tech support, at least online, is TERRIBLE, WHICH REALLY disappoints me because I was a big RF fan for sure. My next setup will be of a different brand I am afraid. I will update when I test my rear speakers with a meter...

Best amp by far. I have been an audiophile for about 20 years. Started off as a broke bass head teen in the 90's. Now, I prefer a better balance. However in my project truck I run 3 of these for bass alone to 3 P2D410's by Fosgate. Super clean, never over heats, and no more gain setting woes. Even for beginners fosgate test cd and clip indicater make it easy to get the most out of your purchase. Highly recommend. You get what you pay for. In this case, you get more for your money.

I bought this amp to power 1_JBL 12 @ 2 ohm in my Toyota Camry. It is a very nice looking and clean amp. The Birth sheet says total power at 2ohm is 582 peak power. Well I'm not quite sure how accurate that is but it hits very well and strong! It will shake your rearview mirror real good. I do think its a little under powered just slightly but my only complaint is it's a class AB and gets extremely hot! It could cook a cheeseburger. I put a Scorpion brush fan next to it and its really helped with cooling. Overall I would buy another one. Great clean bass and quality.

Made installation super easy. integrated with my OEM system. The battery is in the trunk of my car, so I was able to install this and run cables in about 20-30 minutes. Didnt have to fuss with finding a remote turn on wire with my multimeter, just hook up signal and it turns on. At first I was nervous as it stays on for about 10 minutes after you stop playing it, but it does indeed turn off once signal stops. My birthsheet reported 449 watts which makes it a good match for the 10" Punch P3D4 I run it with. Both the amp and sub start to hit their limit at about the same point. This combination can boom and be obnoxious, but it also adds a well defined and extended bottom end if you are looking to improve the factory stereos bass response.

Good amp for the price. Affordable clean power.
