"Be master of mind rather than mastered by mind." For some, buying something titled Zen and Buddha is enough to feel they've given a gift that says something about the person they want people to think they are and are not as close-minded as "others". For others, it really is Zen-ful. For some of you, it's neither. I bought this for some in-laws and for my yoga instructor for gifts for various occassions over the last few months. Everyone (well, except that one SIL that we all can laugh about) thought it was great fun and appreciated the simple pleasure of doodling for a moment, and then letting it go. Zen Buddhism emphasizes enlightenment through the knowledge gained through meditation rather than study of scripture of texts. "To a mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders." To quiet your mind for a moment, to detach from work, the gaggle of children running at your feet, or from the 1,000,001 other distractions of our day - even for a moment - is Zen. And if that doesn't work for you, it is useful for party games (quick sketch for Cranium), goofing off, leaving a quick and dirty message for your SO that will disappear before the kids see it, or hundreds of other fun uses. It is not good for grocery list making, the brush is too thick, and it's gone before you get to the store. A small, fun thoughtful gift is exactly the intention of this gift, and it earns 5 stars from me for doing exactly that.

This Buddha board is wonderful. It is very good for relaxing, focusing and allowing one to stay mindful. I bought it for an 84 year old friend with dementia, as I wanted her to do more during the day than watch television without the sound. While she is not an artist per se, she loves this board because it does not require much thought, but at the same time provides her with an activity she can do that will help her brain. She uses the great brush that came with it, dips it in the water and "paints" whatever she wants. She was pleasantly surprised that the water dried and her "painting" disappeared and she could start anew. The size is perfect as she can still sit in her favorite chair and balance this board on her lap. And, it allows her to do more than just sit and watch the television.

This is a great compact version of the original Buddha Board. My preteen loves it and finds that it relaxing and creative at the same time. All you need is water as the brush and water container are included. The board can be used over and over again as the image created will not be permanent.

I gave these as gifts. They LOVED them. The small size made it perfect to fit in a desk drawer at work for a bit of stress relief. Fun for adults, and kids as well.

Super relaxing & quick drying. The marker it comes with is nice & thick. I use it while I do breathing exercises. Once it’s clear, I know I’ve spent enough time on my meditation for the day! It’s nice that it’s small & can go anywhere I do.

These are fun!! So fun I bought this for a teen and got the big one for my kitchen. Random notes all the time and with my families south park humor, it’s nice that the picture disappears quickly ;)

Great idea

I got this small Buddha board for my mom for Christmas. She isn't particularly artsy, but enjoys doodling occasionally, and I thought would like the chance to express herself in a way that just disappeared after a bit. I was right. This board and a small bowl of water have been sitting out in her home since the day she unwrapped it, and I believe gets daily or near daily use. Depending on how much water you use, your art dries up and disappears within about a minute or two. There is no trace at all left over. I have also enjoyed doodling on it several times, it's an enticing sort of fidget. Comically, my mom has reported that her most favored use of the Buddha board has been to write out her frustrations after some arguments with family and "no one has to know what awful language [she] used." I highly recommend this small Buddha board for yourself or for a gift.

Es ideal para hacer escritura japonesa por ejemplo, o dibujos tipo orientales. En cuanto pasan unos segundos, se seca lo escrito: es solo para disfrutar del momento.
