I've dyed my hair super dark brown for well over two years now. I was bored with it and wanted a change. I've bleached my hair before and it turned out horrible. (I used a different product) Earlier this year, I used a hair dye remover from Sally's and was kinda so-so on the results and ended up dying my hair back to dark brown. My hair is a natural medium brown color but I wanted to attempt to go blonde. It's the only natural color I've never been before. I went to a local walmart and was caught between Oops and this product. A friend has used Oops and said it worked moderately well for her. My biggest concern was if it could get out the hair color. When I bleached my hair for the first time back in 2008, not even half of my dark hair color came out. I grabbed L'Oreal's hair color remover instead of Oops. When I got home I went straight to the bathroom and started mixing this stuff. I wasn't wild about how thin this product is. Not to mention, my hair is just above my shoulders and I almost didn't have enough for my whole head. As I was applying this to my hair, it started working immediately. I left it on for about 40 to 45 minutes and washed it out and shampooed. This stuff took ALL of the dark hair dye out. My hair isn't fried. It's super soft and shiny. I'm highly impressed with this, despite all the bad reviews.Read the instructions. If you don't want to use bleach on your hair, read the ingredients FIRST! This worked leaps and bounds better than the stuff I got at Sally Beauty Supply. I will be using this again in the future!!

Must buy
I have died my hair for years and I swear by this product. I had red and purple peekaboo highlights. Orange and red are the hardest colors to remove but with two boxes of this it came out in an instant I highly recommend purchasing this item and it doesn’t smell like color oops don’t buy that one it’s a waste of money this one on the other hand is superb.

Does NOT remove pool green hair
I bought this product specifically because I asked if it removed pool green hair and another buyer said "yes." It did NOT remove my green hair. I used the product AS INSTRUCTED (I am a professional reader and writer, so I understand instructions pretty well, lest anyone screech "I didn't do it right." I did.) It did bleach my hair but my pool green ends got greener so today (Yes, Sunday) I went to my stylist and she cut off the green and gave me a nice layered cut and colored my hair with a warm blond that covered any remaining green tips. If you want to remove green from your hair, this product DO NOT WORK.

It did take my hair color out but...
...My hair wasn't exactly ready to color again. I did finally achieve a good result later with a little protein filler. COLORFUL Neutral Protein Filler Hairdressers Color Insurance 16 oz/473 mlI've been coloring my hair jet black for years so it's not easy to take the color out. I had attempted to go to a light brown twice in the last 2 years and went to 2 different high end salons for it but my hair always ended up red or strawberry blonde with platinum roots even though I asked for light brown. So this time I decided to DIY at least the first part of it to save some money ( I spent close to $400 each time at the salon only to go right back to my old color so I wasn't doing that again). I'm not a professional but I figured that if I did enough research about hair coloring and my specific situation I could do some DIY. So after a day of research I was ready to do this.I used this product and, as expected, my hair ended up bright orange red with platinum/yellow roots. I immediately colored my hair with a drugstore foam color in dark ash blonde afterwards (to achieve a golden light brown) but there was no change. The hair color didn't hold AT ALL.I stayed calm and did a little more research. Turns out that sometimes bleached hair won't absorb the color because of the damage. My hair didn't LOOK damaged, it was silky and perfect, but obviously the color wasn't taking. So I went to sally's and bought the following: Clear protein filler, ultra ash dark blonde color (This is AA instead of A or .1), developer (20), and a mixing bowl, brush and gloves. I bought an ultra ash to counter the red/orange color and chose a dark blonde because I expected it to come out 2 shades darker given my current(red) hair color, the tone change, and the darkening properties of the filler (I got a clear filler, but still expected it to darken things). The very next day I used the protein filler first, as directed, and mixed the remaining protein filler with the color. The color did take this time because of the protein filler, what a lifesaver!!!! And my choice of ultra ash blonde left my hair a reddish/golden light brown that was very close to what I wanted. There are some red undertones in my hair, but at least my color now looks like something that could be found in nature and not bozo the clown red. I will go to a salon next month to get that brassiness out but this is a multi-step process and this product saved me a lot of money by being able to do step one in the process myself.I would definitely recommend this product; getting a year's worth of black dye out of my hair without making it look damaged is not easy! But I would recommend using a clear protein filler right after you use this and before you color your hair so that your new color will really take.COLORFUL Neutral Protein Filler Hairdressers Color Insurance 16 oz/473 mlUPDATE: I waited a week and colored 1 shade darker in the ultra ash tone. The red undertones are now completely gone and look like golden highlights. My hair is still in very good condition and i achieved the exact color i wanted.

Bad product!! Do not buy!!!
I had ordered a box of this hair dye removal because I didnt want to bleach my hair but I wanted to remove my red hair dye so I could dye my hair back to brown and so we used this before the process of dying my hair and might I add this stuff ruins ur hair and it crimples it up and it is so so so dry and when u wash it out ur hair literally hardens up and sticks together when ur trying to towel dry it and i had s tiny bit of hair loss using this product and i did not like this product whatsoever and i would give 0 stars if that were an option because when i went to use the hair dye my hair turned out to be a orange brown and i used the medium brown dye. This stuff was supposed to help with being able to recolor ur hair after an unwanted color and it help nothing whatsoever it just caused a bigger problem and now i have to waste my money trying to get my hair to finally be healthy again. I WOULD NOT RECOMEND USING THIS PRODUCT!!
