Great tool, follow assembly instructions, get a couple of short bungee cords.
It is sturdy, solid and works as advertised. As you drag it across the lawn, the thatch will ball up on the tines, so after an hour of use or so, you might consider removing the built up thatch from the tines. Things to remember, the manufacturer's label on the tray is the back of the tray, the front is the what faces the hitch, instructions don't indicate that, so pay attention. When you assemble, it's an awkward imbalanced piece of equipment, so make sure you have a large working surface, preferably one where you can stand to use leverage to manhandle..why, cuz you dont tighten all bolts all the way until the end, so its a little rickety before that. Double check that you know what is front of tray before you fasten tines. The instructions calls for a screwdriver to push down tabs to lock in tines, use a long sturdy screw driver, once tines are in you dont want to slip and push your gloved hand into already installed tines. The nylon lock bolts are great, but be prepared to have both socket and combo wrenches, it takes some torque to fasten them and you'll need some leverage. I tried a power wrench - but I think a manual wrench is the way to go. Use two bolts to fasten the lever height adjustment arm to the carriage assembly. I followed the instructions to the tee and discovered the above tips. Get four 8" x 16" 3/4" pavers and two short bungee chords to tie down in the tray, depending on the bumpyness of the lawn you might need 4. Drive accordingly, you're not cutting the lawn, so expect some drag resistance, full throttle but medium low speed. Make wide turns if you can. It works great in grass, and, the real reason why I got it, to rake rip out moss in the lawn. This piece of equipment is 48 inches wide hooks up to a rider and even though you may have to run across the areas twice, in perpendicular fashion, it sure as hell beats using a 16" wide walk behind power thatcher, especially if you have acreage to maintain. I highly recommemded it and really like it. And look forward to many years of use.

Impressed with this machine!
I'd give it 5 stars, but few read the 5 star reviews, so placing it here. Just completed 2.5 acres of dense grass thatching. Worked perfectly - impressive results for a very low cost machine. Instructions are fine for anyone that's handy. Avoid trying to use a hammer or punch to clamp in the tines - a large 8" flat screwdriver pries them down easily and snugly. I placed two 35 lb cinder blocks on it. Space them evenly to avoid oscillation. I centered each one over a wheel so that it doesn't tip when adding or removing the blocks. My zero-turn's hitch is 11-1/2" off the ground. Tines are flat to the ground but it's at max adjustment, meaning if your hitch is higher than 11-1/2" you'll need to do some modifying. Yes the handle seems flimsy with weights on the machine, but it's only used when transporting or going over a driveway or the like. Simply assist the lift with your hand under the FRONT of the tine shield (to avoid pinching fingers) and the handle is less stressed. Lower the same way. PRO TIP - keep toes out from under the machine when lowering!

It does the job.
The first one I ordered was missing parts, so I called Amazon and they promptly sent me another one, which had all the parts. The Item was not too hard to assemble. The only criticism I have is that I have a John Deere D155, and the way it is built does not allow it to fit directly onto the machine with the pin. The good news is that you can remove one bolt (which does not harm stability), and it will create the space you need to attach the item to your tractor. I am not sure about other tractors, just mine. I have 22,000 square feet of hilly and lumpy grass. I used two cinder blocks to weigh the agri-fab down, and it worked fine. I would say that due to my lumpy lawn, I had to go over some spots in different directions to get the results I needed. If you have a tractor with a bag attachment, the cleanup is easy peasy. I would say that, for the price it does the job.

Great product for normal use
I was shocked. It did not seem like it would hold up. I recently purchased a three acre property where the grass is mostly weeds and old mowed grass under. Put a couple of concrete blocks on it and I am amazed at how well it did. Even pulled up weeds. I had about one half of the property forestry mulched to get rid of overgrowth and some trees. The mulched trees left a lot of wood and sticks around the lawn. I was able to rake up most of those with it too. If you have a lawn tractor and nothing too heavy duty to do with it I recommend. Easy to put together and not too heavy to move around. I am a woman, 5'5", 60 years old.

I don't know - it works but seems like it won't last
The price point was low, and it did work after some serious finagling. For the price I guess it's OK, I paid $90 .

If you love wasting time and energy, this is the product for you!
I have 2 acres and my lawn needed some detaching. Reviews for this were decent so I ordered it. Packaging was beaten up and retaped. The base was pretty scratched, but considering how this is gonna be used, that wasn’t a big deal. The metal on this thing is thin and cheap. The engaging handle is so thin in bends and deforms easily. Installation took about 30 minutes. Instructions were okay, but could be better. I noticed no good places to secure pavers or concrete blocks with rubber cords. The sides have no lips to keep blocks from sliding off. I attached it to my zero turn and it was incredibly frustrating to try and use. This thing bounces so much. I tried adding paver bricks to steady it as the manual suggested. At slow speeds the bungee corded Pavers kept coming off the platform because it still rocked and bounced so much. The hard plastic wheels also does not do this crappy product any favors. I tried adding a bit more weight with concrete blocks. Still rocked and jumped even with the mower going at a snails pace. Also frustrating, trying to engage and disengage with that thin engauger. It warped and bent. It ended up taking me nearly 4x as long to do my yard as it did to aerate it. Look else where for a company that has a clue on how to manufacture a decent dethacher.

Very good product, good quality, does exactly what the video showed it would do. Assembly instruction aren't great but it is relatively easy to figure out. Mine arrived on time but had 3 tynes missing, which may have had something to do with the damaged shipping package. I called Agri-Fab and they sent out replacement tynes right away. I'm a happy customer!
