Nice product, but not easy to install on a hollow core door.
This is a very nice quality door stopper and looks good as well. Once installed, it works perfectly and meets my needs. Now for what you need to know before choosing to install this product into a hollow core door.Modern hollow core doors are essentially thick pressed cardboard and are very thin. This stopper comes with two types of anchors to mount it. One is an expanding sleeve over post type anchor. You drill a hole large enough for the anchor to o into the door and then tighten a nut on the threaded end which pulls the post into the sleeve to expand it, which is supposed to hold it in place. Unfortunately, the thin door material didn't provide enough surface for the sleeve to expand into to hold it. Okay, on to method #2; typical hollow wall (drywall) anchors that you get with pretty much any wall mounting kit. Same issue with the door's thickness not allowing the anchor to stay put and as I drove the screws in, the anchor just spun in the hole.My solution: Self-Drilling Drywall Anchors. There are many available on Amazon or at you local hardware store. I already had holes drilled for the provided anchors, so the self-drilling ones just screwed right into those holes. I used a dab of craft glue (E6000) on the head of the anchor to ensure that they wouldn't just start spinning like the other anchors did. This worked well and seems to be a better solution than what was provided with the stopper.

Solved a very frustrating issue
My home has an issue where the bedroom doors don’t stay open. They all like to sit about 1/2 to 3/4 open.Well, not a huge deal. Until. We got a puppy. In my midnight state of exhaustion and pitch darkness, I walked into the edge of the door holding a wiggling puppy and got a huge lump on my forehead. The swearing I let out woke up sailors 45 miles away.I ordered this that very morning with an ice pack on my forehead. It was easy to install, looks great, and it ended the danger of my partially open door. If your door doesn’t stay open, let my tale be a warning to you. Buy this door stop. You could be saving someone’s life...or their forehead at the very least.

Cannot separate parts A and B.
It's a beautiful product with a strong magnet. Unfortunately, after several attempts to do so, neither I nor my husband can separate parts A and B which is integral to installation. We've tried everything we can think of to loosen the two parts. We've looked for hidden screws in the tiny holes. We've used rubber gloves, rubber jar openers...nada will loosen these two parts. FYI...we bought 4 of these. ALL of them are this way. Sadly, the return window has closed so we're stuck with junk. Pretty junk...but junk nonetheless.

Perfect – except for one major flaw…
This door stop exemplifies quality in every detail. Well crafted, sturdy and beautiful. But this manufacturer did what a lot of manufacturers do – give you the cheapest hardware to install it with. Because of this, what should have taken about 15 minutes took over an hour. The screws snapped off at the heads under very little load. My advice to the purchaser is to ditch the hardware and get some quality screws. My advice to the manufacturer – charge us a few pennies more and provide quality hardware. Your reviews would be much better.

Assembly impossible
Can’t get the piece apart to attach to the wall. No instructions included. As another person mentioned in the questions, the piece appears welded together. If it’s magnetically attached it’s too strong to pull apart; if it’s screwed on like another person suggests, it’s on too tight to get apart. Not worth the trouble.

Looks good and works
The door stop is sturdy and looks good. There are no instructions with it so you need to look at the product page for directions. Still, how to remove the cover plate is not obvious, so you need to read the smart reviewer who explains that its threaded on. The screws provided for installation are cheap and one broke on me when torquing to tighten it in the wood baseboard. Once it is installed, it looks good and does the job.

BE CAREFUL when installing, but once it's on its good!
I WISH I could give this 5 star. But as others have pointed out, the mounting hardware is AWEFUL. Be very careful when installing. On the LOWEST drill setting I snapped off the head of two screws. Thankfully I also had the expansion anchor installed... On that note. I installed three of these in my home. On the first I drilled into a stud, nd the expansion anchor worked perfectly, I probably didnt need to use the screws because the hold was so good. But on the other two, it was empty space behind the drywall. So the anchor didn't sink into anything, and the door stop only takes about the first 1/4th of an inch (pictured) so the expansion anchor is useless with two of my three, and I had to rely on the screws. It is absolutely worth buying better screws. It also took some creative work to get the plate on the door lined up with the post on the wall. (I put the magnet on the post, marked the outside edge on the door, took the plate/spring out of the boor part, marked the screw hole AND THEN was able to drill the pilot holes.)Took a little longer than I anticipated. But now that they are attached they are EXCELLENT! I also appreciate that there are flattened edges on the threading for the base to allow you to use plyers to tighten the base to the a wall. That was nice

Don’t waste your money a piece of $&@
Biggest waste of money. I’m a very technical and handy person but I have never seen a piece where you cannot get it to unscrew. Now it’s ruined trying to get the larger piece off so I can Install to the floor or door. Instead it will now be thrown into the garbage and I will buy one from another vendor all together now. So very frustrated and mad.

Colour not as shown. Not great quality.
Amazon was great. Delivery as always great. The product. Initially I thought I liked the design of how the stop attatches. 3 holes you can see from the front but then are covered with a screw on cap.... but the magnet is so strong that it pulls your drill or screw driver so alignmnent sucks. Which makes getting those screws in so they are counter sunk in and flush really tricky. So then the cover doesnt fit in tight and uniformly. The colour is not BLACK with a bronzed edge like in the picture. Its a gun grey with a cheap copper detail. The whole reason I bought these over just flat black from home depot (for $4 cheaper each) was because of that oil rubbed edge to match my hardware. The screws SUCK. The heads were croocked and one just snapped off.I would return but they are already installed. I wouldnt buy again (go to homedepot.ca buy theirs and save yourself the $4). I recommend the concept as I have another ones of these magnetic door stops in my home, but I would not buy from this manufacturer again for this product.
