Source Naturals Xylismart Xylitol Powder* - 32 oz

My naturopathic doctor recommended using Source Naturals Xylismart Powder in place of sugar when following an anti-inflammation diet. As part of that diet, I have stopped eating grains and sugar. My wife bought this to make an occasional dessert item, and uses this in place of sugar. To me, it seems to be as sweet as sugar without the undesirable effects I get from sugar. It has a different "mouth-feel" than sugar does, which took a little getting used to.Using Xylismart instead of sugar has helped me eliminate sugar cravings, and allowed me to enjoy an occasional taste of something sweet. My favorite use has been in a coconut cookie, which contains shredded coconut, egg white, xylismart and vanilla. It tastes like a macaroon without the sugar.

Purchased this product because it eliminates germs/bacteria. I occasionally have monster headaches (migraine and sinuses), So, I sterilized an old nasal spray bottle, put a half teaspoon of XyliSmart granules in it, added a few drops of 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide, a quarter teaspoon of Celtic Sea Salt, and a few drops of lemon juice. The next time I got one of these butt-kicking headaches (they last for many hours and usually keep me up at night) I would spray each nostril every few minutes, wait a bit, then blow my nose. It takes a couple of hours and 3, 4, 5 applications sometimes, but eventually gives me relief from the excruciating pain. Haven't found anything else that works as well. I also add a teaspoon once a day to my coffee for overall health.

I bought this to sweeten my homemade toothpaste, and it works well for it. It comes in a granulated form, so I just put some in my little electric grinder (like you would use for coffee or flaxseeds) to turn it into a powder. It works well for what I use it for. I can't speak to how it makes me feel because I don't ingest it.

Adds sweetness without a weird aftertaste that so many low or no calorie sweeteners do. Please keep this away from pets as it is toxic to them. I hide mine in a drawer in a closed room

I buy this when I can. Much better than sugar.

I use it along with salt and baking soda for the neti pot (nose irrigation). Works fantastically and I am positive it's helped me fight off several sinus infections.

Have used this sweetner for 2 years now really like it.
