Original Genuine OEM BlackBerry Bold 9700 Trackpad Navigation Track Key Button

This appears to be OEM replacement for BlackBerry Bold 9700 Trackpad, although it has 4 red lines not on my original trackpad. Since reinstalling the BB OS didn't solve the problem with the trackpad only working intermittently, I decided to replace the pad, which solved the problem.There are several videos on YouTube on how to do the replacement. Basically, you need a spudger that comes with the trackpad and a Torx 5 screwdriver.Remove the bottom plate with the spudger, remove two screws with T-5 Screwdriver - I bought a well made set by Husky at Home Depot for around $5, remove the top case, remove the keyboard, remove two more screws at the top of the phone and 2 below the screen, unclip the cable at the top left with the spudger, remove the circuit board. Watch out for the clear plastic piece at the top and the volume control button falling out. Not a problem, just put them back in. A small piece of insulation covering a metal contact below the volume control came off; I replaced it with electrical tape.At that point turn the board over, unclip the trackpad cable and remove the trackpad and cable through the hole in the circuit board. Install the trackpad and put everything back together in reverse order.If you haven't done this before, just go slow, be careful, don't lose the screws, and don't pry on anything with a metal screwdriver because you will damage the plastic. You could also replace the screen using the same steps for opening the phone. Once you have done this, you can also replace the battery on the old iPod you have laying around! Be careful with the spudger as part of the end might break off. You can revise the end with a sharp knife.Locally the charge for this repair was $30 to $50; several days in the shop plus time and mileage. At home it took 15 minutes.Now my phone works like a Blackberry should.

I am happy to have this since i was shocked to know trhe price of OE trackpad from BB service center. Now my BB Bold 9700 function as normal.the buid quality is excellant and no one can tell the differance.great solution at great priceChears!!Tom.
