This review is for the "PoP Voice 12.8 Feet Lavalier Lapel Microphone Professional Grade Omnidirectional Mic Condenser Small Mini Perfect for Recording Podcast PC Laptop Android iPhone YouTube Interview ASMR External." I purchased this to pair with my Samsung S9+ and it works perfectly. The quality you get for the price is excellent. I am a blogger on YouTube and needed a quality yet portable microphone to pair with my phone for "in studio" recording, and this microphone has been perfect. I have also used this microphone to record voice-overs. The cord is very long, so long that I have kept some of it bundled to prevent tangling. The microphone is small enough that you don't generally notice it in my videos and the metal clip is plenty strong to keep it clipped to my clothing. I have found that this mic does a very nice job for the price of filtering out background sounds. I do try to have my recording area closed off and fairly quiet, but sometimes there is the humm of electronics working in the background and this microphone has filtered out that sound. There are 4 colored mic covers in different colors to help you blend in the mic with clothing, but I have just been using the standard black. I have not needed to try the adapter as this plugs directly into my Samsung phone. The unit does come with a nice carrying pouch. I have recorded several videos with this mic that you can find on YouTube under Opinionated Horsewoman, most recently a pair of videos on what to pack for a cruise and an unboxing from wish and amazon video. This microphone has greatly improved the quality of my videos and I am very happy with this purchase. For the price, this is a great option! I got this mic to use with my GoPro Hero 4 Black when recording videos for my YouTube channel. Using the camera's internal mic worked OK, but not great. The internal mic picked up a bit of echo inside my workshop, as well as some hissing in the backdround. Using this external mic cleaned up the sound quite a bit, and lets me focus the mic on my voice or whatever I want to record, which is nice. The mic itself seems like quality hardware, the mic housing and clip are metal, not fragile plastic parts. The cable is nice and long with plenty of extra which allows you to get the mic away from the camera, and move around a bit. I used the included adapter for a standard stereo plug to work with the GoPro mic adapter cable. It's nice knowing the mic will also work with my phone, tablet, PC, or pretty much anything I'd ever want to plug it into... lol The included foam covers are nice too, should make it easier to blend the mic in with different clothing should you want to hide it a little better. I bought this mic to use for calls on my computer. The sound quality is really good, I really wasn’t expecting it to sound so clear for how cheap it was. I was having issues with other microphones cutting me out or just not sounding clear. I have a soft voice so most microphones have a hard time picking up my words clearly. I didn’t have this issue at all with this mic. All my words can be heard clearly and none of them get cut out. The only thing is I do sound more quiet than I’d like with it, but that might just be because of my voice. I’ve tried to boost it with settings and it’s still about the same. The cord is also really long, longer than I’d ever need, but if you’re using it with your phone I could see the long cord being useful. Overall I’m happy with this little mic.

I purchased this for recording interviews and found that the microphone to be of good quality. It picks up the spoken voice cleanly with minimal plosive pops or harsh "s" sounds if you place the mic on a collar or on the top of a shirt, about 6-8 inches below the speaker's mouth. You can record directly to a smartphone using the standard TRRS cable attached to the lav, or you can plug it into an external recorder or a camera mic input with the included TRS adapter. I don't have experience with professional grade $300+ lav mics, but compared to the more expensive consumer ones like the JK MIC-J 044 or the Rode smartLav+, this lav mic holds its own. If you bring in the mic's output into a cell phone or camera, it is a bit noisier than if you bring it into a dedicated audio recorder with high quality pre-amps. When paired with my TASCAM DR-60DMKII audio recorder, the audio is clean and crisp with minimal noise when normalized.

The microphone by itself is what you would expect for this price point. I did several recordings comparing it to a built in webcam microphone and a $80 XLR microphone run though an audio interface. I am by no means and audio expert but this is what I found. Compared to the XLR microphone on audio interface it does not pick up the same levels while using both as they are intended to be used. This is to say when clipping this mic to my shirt and using the XLR microphone from within its pickup distance I got crisper and louder sound from the XLR. When doing the same test comparing it to the webcam microphone I found them both to pick up too much background sound but the PoP microphone was a crisper and did not produce the same tunnel effect you sometimes get on webcam microphones. I found if I configure a sound gate (noise suppression) in my recording software with the PoP microphone it preforms decently. Overall this microphone preforms at the level you would expect for the price. If you are working on a budget and intend to record with this microphone through recording software that you can tweak the sound with sound gates this will definitely get the job done. If you are looking for a high quality clip on microphone with no additional setup needed I would not suggest this microphone.

This is a great mic! It works as intended and the sound quality is good. I did this intentionally when there was a fair amount of background noise in the house such as pots banging and stuff and the mic picked up very little of it. This is a great buy for the money, it's clearly not a $200 mic but you get what you pay for and more. Also, if you're using, you can't use headphones and this device unless you have more than one multi-audio port or have separate headphone and microphone jacks. There are adapters that could let you do it with just one port and most desktops have one in front and another in back. Keep that in mind if you're buying it. File was recorded using basic windows software (Windows Voice Recorder) which isn't that good so take that in if you listen to the recording.

Wish I never bought this. I purchased it when the price was super high - $18.99 + the taxes taking it to over $20! Immediately the price dropped back down to $12, which is still a rip off if you're paying that. This mic is probably worth $1, and I would pretty much treat it as a disposable, one-time item, if you even get lucky and happen to have no hum on your audio. It worked OK for a few times, then this problem started to creep in. There is a low audio hum that sounds terrible. You can spend hours recording, then you hear it back and the background hum is back! It used to happen only now and then. A few weeks later, the annoying hum is present every single time. Complete garbage. Was ripped off. And there is absolutely no way of getting a refund tho I bought it in late May and today it's early September. I've used it maybe 8 times and stored it in a cupboard safely. If you want a non-disposable mic, try the Power DeWise one which I going to purchase right now.

Absolutely AMAZING product! BUY IT! This little guys gives a powerful BANG to your buck! I gave the sound quality a 4 because I feel like it could just a teeney weeney more crisp and loud but honestly, it’s almost 5 Star product for me! I wish there was a “4 and a half star button” because that is what I would truly give the sound quality! SO CLOSE TO A 5star ! Sound does sound GREAT THOUGH! And cord is looong you can move around while you’re recording and talking! Other than that 5 stars for money and 5 stars for easy to use! 5 stars for packaging as well! Nice and Fancy packaging! Amazing product for your buck! Great! GET IT IF YOU WERE SKEPTICAL! SO WAS I ! I’M GLAD I PURCHASED THIS! WILL BUY AGAIN! GET IT IF YOU ARE STARTING OFF MAKING VIDEOS!
