Strad Pad Original Beige Chinrest Pad: Standard Size

Very much what I was hoping for. My chin feels comfortable and there is no red marks on my neck.

I love these things! This is the third one I've bought. Originally had one for like 10 years. Replaced it, had it for another 10 years. Bought a new violin and bought a new one. Prevents the dreaded violin hickey. And it's so comfortable! When i play other violins without a Strad Pad I'm always thrown off by how hard and angular the chin rests are. Buy it. It's awesome.

Excellent product! Prevents the edge of the chinrest from digging into my jaw. I like the way this pad wraps over the edge of the chinrest and the violin. It is quite a bit more comfortable than the gel pad type which leaves the edge of the chinrest exposed.

I had bought a black Strad Pad (same brand as this) through Fiddlerman a few years ago. I loved it. It was so soft and a lifesaver for my chin. Recently, though I had noticed that some of the black was coming off onto my neck as I played so I ordered this one from here, in beige, since the price was a little better with my free shipping. When I took the old one off to replace it, I realized that the material was melting where it touched the metal clamps of my chinrest. When the pad was on, it wasn't something that was easily visable so I did not see it. A reaction between the material and metal?? I don't know, but it coated the metal in sticky tar and the area of the violin body where the posts touch my violin. In addition, where the flap of the Strad Pad touches my violin, it also ate away some of the finish. My violin is not a cheap violin either, so the quality of the stain and metal are not in question. I am not saying not to buy this product. It seems others have used for years without this problem. Just be aware that this can happen, and be watching for any deterioration in the pad.

I need a new pad as the last one lasted many years, but I just felt it was time to get a new one. This works well and I find it to be comfortable.

My daughter has always suffered from neck pains after practicing long hours on the violin. The pad doesn’t get hot, and feels like a big pillow on her neck. It doesn’t even feel like you wear, it’s super comfortable. The setup was a bit challenging to find the right spot, but after that, it was heaven for her.

It is VERY comfortable to use this. What I disliked is how you have to attach it to your chin rest. Although you can remove it, I see it as impossible to reattach it back. I wish that there was nothing else than a just plain rubber, but there's an annoying sticky inside.

I always sweat when I play long sessions. I haven't gone without one of these pads for the last 10 years, and I never will. They are very comfortable and absorb any chin sweat. They last for a few years and I think they look nice. Also easy to put on and adjust. I've had both black and beige and they look great.
