The perfect fix at a fraction of the cost!
We checked the charge when the item arrived and it was up to standards. So far it has been a great fix for my very very dead capacitor that I replaced. It was easy and clear to install, fit as it should, and I hope to see a long lifespan on it.

Fixed my A/C
This capacitor seems to be well built. Looks much better than the Chinese versions. I installed it as soon as it arrived and it did the trick, nice cold A/C... It did arrive with a small dent, probably from the shipping.

Replaced this in my central air conditioner .original lasted nearly 30 years until expoding .easy to replace saved at least $500.00 plus having a repairman do it

Decent value
I tested it and right out of the box was on spec for both HERM and fan. Always test before installing. Lifespan for capacitors vary greatly. GENERALLY, you can expect 3 to 5 years of use, sometimes more. This brand is fairly good. I have seen a few of this brand last 10 years though typically less.I will purchase again again.

Great buy
If you have an ac unit I recommend keeping a few if these on the shelf . There work great

Perfect
A/C went out at 4am on Saturday in August. Big box doesn't carry capacitors. Local electrical supply closed on weekends. Ordered this at 8am and it arrived Sunday afternoon. HVAC service had replaced capacitor 3 years ago with off-brand import. This is a dual capacitor with one connection for fan and one for the compressor. Tested old capacitor with multimeter (search you-tube) and compressor leg was at almost zero instead of the rated 40 uF. Take a picture of the wiring before you remove the old capacitor, and make sure you can see the terminal markings in the photo. New GE capacitor arrived quickly and got the A/C going again.

Keeps the HVAC going
When the HVAC outdoor unit stopped all of a sudden on a peak summer afternoon and the AC service guys weren't available for couple of days, googled the symptoms and decided to get the capacitor replaced. Got this the next day(1 day delivery), took about 15-20 minutes to swap them out (had to move slow until the old capacitor was discharged using wooden handled screwdriver) and the HVAC started fine when powered back on! I now have one extra (backup) for the equally old second unit!!

No brainer
I am relatively handy and tend to do a lot of things around the house if it will be quicker than researching and scheduling a repair, however I engage experts when my work will be subpar or potentially dangerous. When our the fan our on outdoor condenser unit went out, the symptoms appeared to be a faulty capacitor and I thought I could address this issue quickly, and also economically. As others have mentioned, the troubleshooting of the symptoms and repair can be done quickly and safely if you pay attention to some good YouTube videos on the subject (disable power, discharge the capacitor, etc.), take pictures along the way to ensure proper wire placement, and shouldn't cost you more than this part, which is ~$20 or less (vs. $250+ for a repair). The install was easy, and I had the air back up and running smoothly in less than 1 hr. I probably spent more time getting out the tools and putting them away. I can't speak to the longevity of the capacitor since I've only had it for a 1 month+, however I bought a back up to have on hand (capacitors do fail from time to time).
