This is one of Sony's higher end products so it is made in Japan. All the mid range and low end stuff tends to be made in China or Malaysia.

You would have do it through a mixer. The mic has an XLR connector and requires phantom power.

Fantastic Sound

I use the Sony ECM-77B mic for video chat, webinars, and recording classes. My voice is crystal clear and natural as if I were in the room with someone live. The cord is 10 feet long which makes it easy to run under a shirt or jacket, hidden and out of the way. Sony provides 3 different clips, which is nice, and includes a windscreen that also eliminates explosive "P's". Finally, the included case is great for taking the mic on the road. I highly recommend this mic.
