This thing is like a tank
I love this mounting system. I was really surprised at how strong and heavy the mounting arm is. The clamp is made out of metal and the middle arm part is carbon fiber. Just very strong manufacturing all around.

Hold your stuff with much Joy
The ball is .750 or 3/4” diameter for shoppers seeking to adapt this fixture for other uses. I own three Joy products and they are premium items with no plastic parts.

Terrible performance
While the concept of this item is good, the product itself does not work. The segments that allow the arm to pivot and clamp in different configurations are not strong enough to hold a Surface Pro that is in a weatherproof JoyFactory (with magconnect) case. No matter how hard I tighten the segments, gravity sadly pulls everything down, the tablet then is resting on the desk...just like it would be if I used the integrated kick stand.For an expensive product, I expected performance and feel that I have wasted my money. Beware.

Decent mount and case but not worth the premium price tag.
I am using this as a car mount for a 2017 Nissan Sentra.The mount wobbles a bit where the ball mounts to the clamp. It makes the tablet move about an inch wither way.The rubber on the outside of the case is what the hand strap/metal for the magnet to grab/stand is connected to. This means that when you are using the hand strap it pulls considerably on the rubber. Over time I feel like this may be a problem.The plastic screen protector does not sit flush with the screen. This means that when you are using the surface pen you sometimes have to press really hard to get it to register. A pain in the butt when trying to use the pen to be precise.I probably would not by this product again.
