I have tried 3 different fountains, and this is the best yet. My pets enjoy the flowing water and I enjoy the sound of the water flowing. I learned that I have to rinse the pump every week. We have a water softener, and it seems we get a slick layer of slime on everything, if I don't rinse the pump, the flow slows to a trickle and the pump seems to struggle. I read in another review that running white vinegar through the pump to clean it helps, I tried it and yep, I agree. 1/2 cup vinegar 2 cups water and let the pump run for 10 minutes, then run clear water for another 5 and it's like the unit is brand new. I recommend this pump 100%.

I have four cats, 2 are larger. A Maine coon and Siberian. Maine coon used to exclusively drink water from the bathtub tap. I hated keeping it on but he would refuse to drink standing water. This fountain is wonderful. Easy to clean, holds plenty of water for all of my cats to drink. I have it slightly elevated on a short box and keep a towel under it because some of the cats will play with the water and splash it a bit (thankfully not much). Overall very worth the money. I’ve had it for a few months now and all is well. I give it a deep clean it once a week.UPDATE:8 months in and had to replace the water pump. Noticed that even after a deep clean the pump was weak. Thankfully we had a replacement already and the fountain is like new again! It is an absolute MUST to give this fountain a deep clean weekly. Remember to change the filters and rinse them before use!!Altogether I still love this and my cats have been drinking water like mad now that it’s summer.UPDATE: This fountain is still working out great for my cats. I try to use only filtered water and give it a deep clean every 1-2 weeks. Hope it continues to last a long time. I’ve had not issues with the replacement pump so maybe the first pump was a lemon.

Mine recently went out and they no longer sale it so I decided to try this one out because I have 5 dogs and I needed a large water fountain. This thing is GREAT! It's quiet and it extremely simple to put together. Just follow the steps in the instructions to make sure you have everything facing the right direction and that you have all the pieces. FOR THE ABOVE VIDEO WITH ONE STAR!! There is no flow of water because the pump clearly does not have 2 pieces that are suppose to enclose the fan piece to allow pressure. Liiikkeee how did you miss that?? This is why there is instructions! Lol.Yes you have to clean these things, like you do every dog fountain. It does not filter out dog food crumbs or foam from dog spit. But it's a great way to give your dog fresh miving water!

*Update - contacted Petsafe and re-assembled the part that pulls water from pump to spout where water comes out. It took several tries to get it to properly seal. This may be a defect, but once it sealed, the leak stopped. The fountain is working properly and I adjusted the rating to 4 stars because it is great, but deducted 1 star for my time and trouble to get it right. It really should not be that difficult!! I advise to assemble and test over a sink. Petsafe needs to add a rubber gasket or something to the assembly to make it easier.I bought the water fountain because our 5 month old Rottweiler puppy gets frequent UTI’s and we thought this would help. She loves it and loves to drink from the fountain part.Here’s the problem...see that slot on the back? When she drinks from the fountain, the water pushes back and leaks everywhere. We have rigged it up with a cookie sheet and towels until we figure out what to do. I mean...we spent $65 on this thing so we want to get our money’s worth, but we do not want our floors ruined either.Definitely a flaw....if you are going to make a fountain, it should all be contained, right?The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because my dog loves it and it was easy to assemble, otherwise, 1 star for poor construction that will get your floor wet if your dog drinks from the fountain and not from the bowl part.PetSafe...if you’re reading this, if there’s a fix, I would love to hear it!!

I have a blue heeler and a German shepherd, both of which drink a ton of water. I used to have 3 bowls of water in the kitchen until I found this! The dogs love the fountain feature and this keeps the water cool. It is easy to set up and doesn't make a ton of noise. You can adjust the flow if it's too loud, super nice to have the option. It doesn't take up too much space & has filters to keep the pups water clean! Replacements don't seem to be too expensive either! Win win!

Looking to get a water fountain that would last and hold more water for my 3 large dogs and after spending $73 on this one, it was not worth it. The pump alone is the same exact pump that came with my $20 previous water fountain with the material being just as flimsy. I'm returning this product due to it not working as well, there is an oddly shaped little plastic pipe on this inside that splits into 2 halves (I assume to make it easier to clean) that is supposed to help run the water to the top of the fountain but it leaks out of the seams. The rest of the water runs through a piece of the pipe that runs directly back into the basin resulting in no water flow to the top. At most I would spend $15 on this considering how it feels like I'm paying for a large plastic bowl.

My PetSafe fountain which I had for over 10 years had a motor failure. I tried to find a new motor but it was so old that you could not get them anymore. So, I purchased this new one and am very pleased with it. It is so much easier to clean than the old one. Filter system is so much better as well. My babies are happy that it is quieter and I can adjust the flow to their liking.

Su agua se mantiene fresca

Me encanta que el agua se mantiene en movimiento. Y para mi perrito es un bien tamaño. Toma mucha agua y aún así no sirvo tan seguido. En ocasiones hace ruido, y la mayoría de las ocasiones es por que el agua está llegando a un nivel bajo. A pesar de eso, le doy cinco estrellas, por que me es muy funcional.

Me gustó mucho, estaba teniendo problemas con el bebedero tradicional y este me ayudó a que no se formen mosquitos ya que el agua esté siempre limpia y en movimiento. Además la forma es muy amigable con las mascotas.

Having two dogs and two cats, I've found that all of them enjoy using a self-watering bowl. It's a great option for me because of its great size. The only maintenance required is to adjust the amount of water dispensed once per day to prevent excess noise from constantly running water.
