Review: Best Mayo this side of Best Foods/Hellman’s Mayo - This is my first desertcart review for any product. I am a mayo freak. This Blue Plate Mayo met my expectations and almost exceeded them which is why I chose to make a review so others looking for a good Mayo can hopefully read this and give it a try, if you haven’t already. Growing up, we aways had Mayo in the house but I didn’t give a thought as to the brand of Mayo. My parents bought Best Foods/Hellman’s or Kraft Mayo or whatever was cheapest. It wasn’t until I was 14 that a friends dad made us a sandwich with Best Foods that I came to realize, I was a Best Foods fanatic. My friends dad would eat it by the spoonful and even put it on his pancakes. He was nuts. But I came to notice the difference of Best Foods to other Mayo. Hey...to each their own. We all have different taste. But to me, Best Foods has a nice taste, bite and good texture. It was and has been my go-to Mayo. I’ve purchased and tried many, many Mayo’s through the years but stuck with Best Foods. Their Vegan brand was the best vegan brand of Mayo that I have ever had too but then they changed the recipe and from what I hear, it tastes like plastic and is now inedible. WTF Best Foods??? Anyways. I made New Orleans Po Boys and online ordered the original Po Boy bread to the house and found out about Blue Plate NO (New Orleans) Mayo. Bought it not expecting much. Boy was I wrong. This Mayo is delicious, has a more velvety consistency than Best Foods but is very similar. Any fan of Best Foods/Hellman‘a will be pleasantly surprised and fans of other Mayo will find this to be a tasty new Mayo to add into your fridge. I’m kinda addicted to it. The taste is slightly “eggier” than BF/Hellman’s but it’s not in a bad way. I don’t like egg tasting foods but find this perfect. As others noted, it’s less “gelatinous” than BF’s but I found the consistency very close, but slightly creamier. The flavors are very similar but it’s savory, but just slightly more than BF’s. All in all, for $4-5 a jar, it’s well worth the buy and if you like BF’s/Hellmans like I do, this Mayo will do you right in a very good way. I hope you enjoy it as much as I. If not...like I said, it’s all personal preference. As a BF’s/Hellman’s enthusiast, I found that this is on par, if not 1% better. That’s huge coming from me, for anyone who knows me. Just my 2 cents though folks. This is a great Mayo, I enjoy it. ***for this who ordered and it separated...that’s most likely due to being stored in high temperatures for too long. It contains oil and eggs, so they will separate with high heat. I bought a jar through desertcart and it was perfect. But to those who receive a separated jar, message desertcart. I’m sure they will help to fix it. Or take a jar of your Mayo, set it out in the sun for several hours..you’ll get the same result. Hope all are well, this is a great Mayo. Enjoy!!!
Review: This is tasty, and creamy mayonnaise, that kicks up sandwiches and recipes. I like it. - This is really good mayonnaise, that is a tad thicker than some of the cheap stuff you get, and has a good solid creamy feel to it, and a nice taste. I find this is really good in sandwiches, and things such as tuna salad recipes. I like the texture of this, and think it's a little thicker and creamier than your average mayonnaise. I like that because it's spreads out easy on things, and I think it helps thicken sauces and things I make with it. Plus it has a good flavor. Also, this has a brighter, cleaner color than some other brands. Note, for those who care I included pictures of the expiration date. I just wanted to show that this wasn't an old item they sent to me, but as a good expiration date in the future. That's a good indication that there selling fresh product to you, and not stuff that went past the expiration date in a grocery store. I hope that helps someone. If you can get this at a decent, and competitive price with other mayonnaise, it is really worth getting. I prefer it over the store brands. As a bonus, I think the design of the packaging is very pleasing, and artistic. It might seem strange, but this stands out a little better on the Shelf than other mayonnaise Brands.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: what are the ingredients? gluten free? no canola or soy? gmo free organic?**
A: Blue Plate Light Mayonnaise with Olive Oil is Gluten Free. Ingredients are Water, Olive Oil, Canola Oil, Soybean Oil, Egg Yolks, Modified Food Starch, Distilled Vinegar, Sugar, Salt, Zanthan Gum, Gelian Gum, Potassium Sorbate and EDTA as Preservatives, Natural Flavor, Beta Carotene, Tocopherols (Vitamin E). It has about half the calories and fat of mayonnaise, and is a good source of OMEGA 3 ALA.

**Q: What is the difference between blue plate real mayonnaise and blue plate heavy duty real mayonnaise?**
A: Thank you for your interest in Blue Plate Mayonnaise! The same mayonnaise is used in our different sizes for Blue Plate Real Mayonnaise. Our larger containers such as our one gallon containers say Heavy Duty due to being heavily used by food service operators; however all of our real mayonnaise sizes are the same mayonnaise. We hope you will try and enjoy our excellent line of Blue Plate Mayonnaise!

**Q: is this a glass jar**
A: No, it is not a glass jar. It is a strong, plastic jar.

**Q: What the expire date on this**
A: There is no way to answer this question that shall be useful to you. The date shall vary depending on the batch. However, relying on it to be comparable to that which you would find on a large grocer's shelf where if is locally sold should be a safe starting point. Why do I make this assertion? The frequency with which it is temporarily out of stock. Demand exceeds supply which strongly suggest that what is available is of most recent production.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Creamy, Delicious, And a good price!
*by T***I on May 10, 2026*

I decided to give this mayonnaise a try. I was not familiar with this brand. I am pleasantly surprised. The flavor is really good and the price is amazing. The container is well sealed and there was no leakage, and I have ordered several times now. Its smooth and the flavor is consistent with all other mayonnaise i have tried. There are not a grocery list of ingredients which makes me comfortable with what I am eating. Simple to use just open and scoop it out, no need to stir. Not any less healthy than other mayonnaise, moderation is key with products that have high fat content. Great quality at a good price! I highly recommend this mayonnaise.
