Saved Me $235 and Made Me Cool 😎
Where I live, we burn capacitors out an average of every 2-to-3 years. It's a $250 local service call. After learning how to do it myself, I saved $235 by getting this part! That's like 2 Flappagizmos at Starchunks! It's a great part. The only thing was my old capacitor was bigger in girth than this one, and so is the mounting bracket, but that wasn't a big deal. I just wedged a block of wood in there and make sure it was secure.I very much recommend this part. In fact, I'm going to buy another and store it, for the next time a capacitor goes out. That way, I won't have to wait for 3 hot days to replace it!

When the A/C quits in Florida, ya got a problem!
Wife asked, why is it so hot and sticky in the house? Me: Good question, the air is on and running, get up to check and THE HORRORS! The dreaded compressor not running in the outside unit! Ordered this replacement cap, when it arrived it took about ten minutes to replace the defective one and......heavenly frigid dry air emitted from our vents once again! AAAAaaaaaahhhhhhhhh! we can sleep again without sticking to the bed sheets! Capacitor arrived on time as stated, was a perfect fit, and solved the problem. Best 13 bucks you can spend. Just remember boys and girls, Kill the power to the unit before you try to change this

works but doesen't last
I bought this April 2015 and it died in August 2019. The previous run capacitor in the AC unit had lasted approximately 25 years. I have read online that the market is flooded with inexpensive Chinese-made motor capacitors and I have seen run capacitors sold for as cheaply as $5 elsewhere. It looks like this one is no different than those others. Incidentally I have a bench grinder in my shop with a motor starting cap in it that is over 80 years old. While that is much nicer of an environment for these the fact is that they can be manufactured with better quality than this one. On top of that, this one failed on the compressor side of the capacitor not the fan side so the AC unit was merrily blowing away with the fan with no compressor activity, and it took a lot longer to notice the unit was not cooling. The cap also did not bulge or deform or otherwise look like it failed but I had bought a spare cap last time I replaced this and had it on the shelf so swapped it for testing.

Keep These On Hand For When Your Air Conditioner Stops Working
Very often a failed capacitor is the cause for a compressor and/or fan that won't run on a central air conditioner or heat pump. Sometimes the failure will be obvious in that the capacitor will have a noticeable bulge at one end or in extreme cases have split open. Before such a failure, it is a good idea to determine the value of capacitor(s) used in the unit outside the house. Before removing any equipment service covers, make sure to disconnect power to the unit by removing fuses and/or switching off the circuit breaker. Once power is removed. remove the equipment service cover and locate the capacitor(s). Some units have one capacitor with 3 terminals and others more than 1 capacitor with 2 terminals each. Note the capacitance value (MFD) and working voltage for the capacitor(s). Order the correct capacitor(s) for your unit with the same capacitance (MFD) and equal or higher voltage rating. Keep spares on hand in the event that your unit stops running one day. When installing the new capacitor(s), make sure to first remove unit power and to put the wires on the correct capacitor terminals marked C (common), FAN (fan), and HERM (compressor) in the case of a 3 terminal capacitor. It's a good idea to label the wires before removing them from the old capacitor(s) and even take photos as a guide for proper wire connection. If capacitor replacement solves the problem that's great. If not, further troubleshooting is in order and professional assistance should be sought.

Did the job, and did it well
The item did exactly what I needed it to do, get my Central AC Unit working again, took less than 5 minutes to install, BUT PLEASE use caution and be sure you have disconnected the power to the unit before beginning, and Also DISCHARGED the current attached capacitor that is attached as the voltage can kill you if you are not careful and ground yourself to it. If you do not know what it means to discharge a capacitor, DO NOT complete this task yourself, it can be very dangerous

Excellent quality AC dual run capacitor for the money
I have ordered two of these now. The first one was ordered 3 years ago and kept climate controlled on standby for when my current capacitor failed. That happened almost two months ago. It has been installed and is working well. Paying less than $15 for this capacitor instead of having to pay the AC guy $125 total for the part and installation is awesome.TEMCo ships quickly. I had the new capacitor within 3 days. Even then, you should consider keeping an extra on hand if you swap it out yourself. That way, you can get your AC working again in minutes. Here in the Deep South, the humidity and heat cause these capacitors to wear out more quickly. Keeping an extra on hand is a smart move if you are comfortable with tools and swap it out yourself. That way, you can get your AC working again in minutes. Youtube has videos on how to do this.I am definitely buying all my future AC capacitors from TEMCo. Excellent company to do business with!

The 1st one failed after 7 months, TEMCo replaced it under warranty
UPDATE:I installed one of the TEMCo 70+5 uf Dual Run Capacitors and the fan side of the capacitor failed after 7 months. I replaced it with the 2nd capacitor in the order.I contacted TEMCo through their website. They responded the same day & sent out a replacement ... EXCELLENT customer service.Original 9/9/20 review:The 2 year old Carrier Compressor Dual Run Capacitor decided to fail late Friday afternoon on a typical Arizona 115° summer day. This TEMCo Capacitor was a perfect replacement with a 2nd Capacitor to have on hand for the next time ... during Arizona summers, there is always a "next time"; hopefully years away.
