It works!
Love the coffee maker! Makes good coffee. Works well. Easy to program. Easy to clean. Standard brew time. We use a gold filter so the oils arenโt removed like when a paper filter is used. Looks as if it will last us a good while. Cuisinart is always good quality.

I Love This Even More Than My Last Cuisinart Coffeemaker!
My last stainless steel Cuisinart coffeemaker lasted a remarkable nine years, and I thought I'd be foolish to look at another brand. I'm thrilled with my new DCC-2650. It makes hot coffee (yes, I'm particular about that) even on the medium setting, although I drink my coffee black, so the hot setting may be best for people who use a lot of milk. This coffeemaker is a little shorter than my last, and the buttons on it are nicer and easier to read. I brew on the "bold" cycle, which is a little slower than the regular, but the coffee still brews quickly. But, oh m'gosh, the coffee is GREAT on this setting. The programmable function works easily and well. I also like the way the carafe fits into the body. (Years ago I had a Braun that I kept knocking off center when I cleaned the counters.) There's an added clean cycle on this model as well. In my opinion, this coffeemaker is worth every penny. The biggest improvement is not the buttons or the appearance or even the slightly lower height, as desirable as those things are. It is the carafe and its spout. The water pours much more smoothly, without drips, both into the reservoir and into cups. This has to do with a more focused stream, and it's now much easier to hit the reservoir without spilling drips of water down the sides. The coffeemaker comes with a gold filter (no paper filters needed) and a charcoal water filter to remove certain impurities prior to brewing. Like any appliance, however, this coffeemaker isn't perfect. Although it can sit and brew under my cabinets, I have to pull it out to fill it because of the height of both the machine (14.5" at the highest) and the size of the reservoir lid (it adds another 8.5 inches when lifted.) And the larger reservoir hole, while better than the last model, can still be a bit of a challenge for a lefty. The quality of the brewed coffee depends highly on the quality of the grounds. Using the bold feature with a canned coffee will simply bring out more of the canned taste. I grind my own beans either just before brewing or the night before or moments prior to brewing, and I'm generous with the amounts of coffee since I aim for a rich, Italian-style coffee. But any high quality coffee, either pre-ground or not, will yield good results. The great thing about this coffeemaker is that you can brew the type of coffee you like -- bold, medium, light -- by tweaking the settings as well as the grounds. There's also a special setting for brewing 4 or less cups of coffee to get the right flavor through fewer grounds and less water. For reference, my last Cuisinart coffeemaker was the Cuisinart DCC-1200 Brew Central 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker . Although I didn't think it possible, I like this Cuisinart coffeemaker even more than my last. I just hope it lasts as long! -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Excellent coffee maker
Such a good coffee maker and very easy to use. I love a classic drip and this makes very good coffee. The glass carafe is very easy to clean and you can adjust how long it stays on (aka stays hot). Comes with a quality wire filter, but I use the disposable ones instead. The metal works great, I just like the ease of tossing the paper filter.

This is a nice coffee maker
When I got this coffee maker through Amazon, I realized after pulling it out of the box that thee were baby spiders everywhere. I assumed that they had got into the box and that it wasn't going to be a problem. I was wrong. It took about a month before I stopped seeing little tiny spiders (which were getting bigger) coming out of the coffee pot. Aside from that, the quality of this coffee maker is really good. The good: * It has a conical filter which in my opinion aids in a better saturation, drip and ultimately, taste. * It makes coffee really fast. * the shower head is one of the best ive seen in this price range. * It makes really hot coffee which again helps deliver a better tasting coffee. * after several months, it has never given me one problem. * it looks nice on the counter and has an easy to clean finish The bad: * Im not crazy about having to remove the lid on the carafe and snap it back on every time I make coffee. A few times I forgot to snap the lid back on and it caused the coffee to overflow into the water reservoir. * There is not way to set how long the burner stays on after it makes the coffee. So, if I decide to have a cup shortly after it has brewed a pot. I generally have to put it in the microwave. I just wish there was a way to adjust the auto shut off. * It took me a while to get the hang of pouring the water into it because once the lid is open it doesn't allow much room to pour it in. * If you use certain coffee brands that are a finer grind, you cant make a full 12 cups of coffee without the grinds overflowing inside. not a big deal for us because we rarely ever make more than 6 cups. * It is supposed be designed in such a way that you can pull the carafe out and pour a cup while its still brewing and it will stop dripping... but It keeps dripping coffee on the hot plate anyway. Over all, I would buy this unit again and recommend it to others. It has its little quirks but for the price its the best one we've used so far and its faster than any other while still delivering a great tasting cup of coffee.

What I think after 8 days....Good product
The clock on the 2650 model is easy to set. It is a small clock; it is not too difficult to read the time except for the PM indicator, which is in the upper right corner and not well-lit. For the first 4 brew cycles, I used a paper filter along with the gold filter because I was only making 4 cups and did not want the water to run through too fast. The coffee was a good strength for me and there was no overflow or other problems. When I made more than 4 cups, I did not use the gold filter (just the paper) and the coffee was just the way I like it. The finish is a nice metal-looking finish; it is plastic but looks like metal. It does not make fingerprints as stainless steel does and is easy to keep clean. A quick wipe with a damp cloth cleans it easily. I believe the instructions say to use 1 tablespoon scoop per cup. I use 1 heaping tablespoon for every two cups and that works for me...this is a matter of personal taste. So if you like a really strong coffee, you will use more coffee. Note: I have not tried the "Bold" setting because I do not require a "Bold" taste. I like it hefty, but not bold. The beeping sound made from this unit is very soft/quiet. Compared to my previous unit (a Kenmore), it is almost un-noticable. I have used the automatic brew setting for 4 of the 8 days of using this coffee maker and the beeping did not wake me from sleep. I could have used my previous unit as an alarm clock. Other reviewers stated that it can be difficult to poor the water in the back of unit. The best angle is from the right side, so it is easy to see that a left-handed person might find filling the unit difficult. I am right-handed and I feel that it is much easier to pour the water if I do not put the pot lid on the pot prior to filling unit with water. The lid holds back some of the water making the last part hard to pour. With the lid off, I did not have difficulty filling the unit. The adjustable hotplate setting is nice. I keep it on the center (medium) setting and find that perfect. The unit also has an auto-off setting that is adjustable; I have mine set on 2 hours but it will go up to 4 hours. I tested the 60 second power-out memory of the settings because I had to unplug my coffee maker for a moment. When I plugged it back into the power, my previous setting were there. Cons for me... It is not easy to see the small PM indicator on the upper right corner of the clock display...even with my glasses on (and my eyes are not that bad). A blue type of back-lighting or a larger and brighter clock face would have been a better option for this model. The pot lid is not hinged; it must be removed to fill the pot with water and then replaced for brewing. For me, it took a couple of days to get the feel of the replacing the lid effortlessly. With that said, I like this coffee maker and I recommend it.

Very nice product, looks fantastic, brews great coffee
My existing coffeemaker was still working fine, but I had gotten tired of its small capacity. (I've written about it before--it's a Miallegro 1090, and its version of "12 cups" is apparently European, and MUCH smaller than us Americans think of 12 cups!) So I decided to order a replacement. My criteria included: 1) Must have a larger capacity than the Miallegro. 2) Must have excellent reviews from existing owners. 3) Must be Prime eligible (hey, I paid for Prime, so I might as well get the 'free' 2-day shipping that comes with it). 4) Must have basic features like auto-shutoff. 5) Preferably includes a permanent filter (if it didn't, I'd purchase one myself--no need to waste paper filters). 6) Preferably includes options such as brew strength and carafe heating temperature. With all that in mind I ended up narrowing down my possible choices to a couple of Cuisinarts, the DCC-1200 and the DCC-2650. I chose the latter and I'm glad I did. I noticed that some owners didn't think the 2650 was worth the extra $20-ish over the 1200, but, among other things, I liked the fact that the 2650 has a water level view window on its side. When I ordered it two days ago, its price was $89.69; I see that it's $95.45 today; in both cases, the list price was shown as $185. I placed my order late afternoon on Sunday and, much to my surprise, it arrived on Monday. :) I put it together and ran a cleansing cycle that day, then brewed my first pot of coffee with it this morning. It was FANTASTIC! And fast! Much, much faster than the coffeemaker it replaced--and especially so when you consider its larger capacity. Something I noticed yesterday when I ran the cleaning cycle, and again today with its first actual pot of coffee, is that the amount of water you put in is the amount of coffee you get out. Not so with the Miallegro--with it, if you filled the water chamber by using the carafe filled to its 12 cup mark, after brewing you'd end up with coffee at the 10 cup mark on the carafe. With this Cuisinart, what you put in is what you get out. I like that, a lot. Although it has several fancy-schmancy features, I don't expect or plan to use many/most of them. For one thing, I've had a decades' long aversion to leaving coffeemakers plugged in, after reading/hearing about many instances of fires being started by them. I don't know and, frankly, don't care if that's still something to worry about, it's just a habit I don't plan on breaking at this point! I set the brew strength to bold and the carafe temperature to high. Since I've only brewed one pot as of right now, I don't have anything to compare them to. But I'll update this review if I use other settings and they don't function as expected. I can't say enough about the carafe and its lid. Great! The carafe is large but very comfortable to hold/pour, and its lid is easy to get on/off, allows for easy pouring because you don't need to DO anything (like press a button or hold the lid up) but pour, and the best part is it doesn't spill all over the place! NO mess at all, not even a spilled drop. Love that. So far, and I know it's only been a day, I'm very pleased with this product. I'm keeping my previous unit as a backup (anyone who's had a carafe break can surely relate), and also to use when having company over that includes a lot of coffee drinkers. We can run two pots at the same time. So it's all good. UPDATE: Now that I've had this coffeemaker for a few days I want to heap some more praise on it. GOOD GRIEF, does it ever brew quickly! Its "Extreme Brew" feature was not something I even considered when I decided on this unit, but now that I've seen it in action I love it. It does, indeed, brew MUCH faster than any other coffeemaker I've personally used. From start to finish it brews a full 12-cup pot in just about 12 minutes; the Miallegro it replaced took at least twice that long even though it had a smaller capacity. I love being able to select varying amounts of time for the unit to shut off. I didn't think I cared as long as it had a basic 2-hour shutoff, but--again--now that I have it I really like this feature. The temperature of the brewed coffee is fantastic. It's actually so much hotter than we were used to with the old unit that it's taken some time to adjust. That first sip each morning is a little dangerous--but in a good way, you know?! I keep the carafe heat setting on high, so we just need to remember that it's a lot hotter than our previous unit's coffee.

Not worth the extra $$
My venerable DCC-1200 Cuisinart died so thought I'd try this one out as it appeared to be a newer/upgraded version of the 1200 and that's how I'm approaching this review. As I write the 2650 is $20 more than the 1200. It's a nice coffeemaker, does what it's supposed to and does it as good as the the 1200, but not worth the extra $20 in my opinion. The good: - I like the new overall look of the design though there's something to be said for the "classic" look of the 1200. - The lift lid to access the cone filter doesn't drip condensation all over the counter behind the unit when you open the lid to toss the previous brews grounds/filter like the 1200. Haven't noticed much dripping anyway but what little there is it keeps self-contained. - Uses the same carafe as the 1200 (and I image many other Cuisinart models). - Seems to brew a bit faster than the 1200. Haven't timed it but wouldn't call it "extreme", whatever that means (see below). The not so good: - Don't be fooled by the stainless steel looking exterior. It looks nice but is plastic, not real metal like the 1200. - Overall feels "cheaper" than the 1200 (which has a good solid feel to it). - The brew strength selector (regular or bold) seems to make no difference, at least that I can taste to this point. - From a brewing function standpoint the only thing different than the 1200 is the strength selector. - Haven't done an official measurement but the "hot" setting doesn't seem as hot as the same setting on the 1200. I could be wrong on this (my wife still has her 1200 - will update review if I ever do an official measurement). - Maybe I'm just getting old but I find the bolded black text "Extreme Brew" proclamation on the front of the unit (under the properly muted Cuisinart logo) very annoying and if I can find a way to scrub it off without marring the surface I will. What's so "extreme" about brewing coffee? Yes I know they're trying to draw attention that it supposedly brews a bit faster than other units, but come on. Ruins the clean lines of the design in my opinion. Neither good nor bad: - Water level view window on the side. Don't really care much about that since I know exactly how much I'm putting in already but imagine others will like that. - The cone filter holder is totally different from the 1200. Still takes the same style filters but holds it differently. Not sure if it's any better but it does the job. Overall a good coffeemaker, but if I had it to do over again I'd buy another 1200 model and spend the $20 I saved on some good coffee. 4 stars overall, minus 1 for points mentioned above.

Highly recommend it! We love this coffee machine and the no drip pot!
This is a five star review from us! My husband and I used this coffee machine during our stay at an Airbnb. We fell in love with it and the no drip coffee pot! We loved using it so much that we wanted one in our home. It was delivered quickly and weโve had it for a few months now with no issues! Would highly recommend it.

My Cusiniart Coffee Maker
Cusiniart makes great coffee makers. This is my second one. I like that I can adjust the temperature setting to make the carafe hotter and adjust the brew strength. A feature that many coffee brewers don't have. The only issue I had was it took over a month to get delivered.
