Simple to set up
Lovely bit of kit. Worked straight out of the box. Set up simple but the instructions are online. Nice compact size which allowed me to fit it the same area as my Home Assistant. The five ports are adequate for my use.

Essential for adding extra wired internet connections to smart TVs, game consoles, and PCs.Key Specifications & Context:Model/Variant Tested: GS305 5-Port Gigabit Desktop SwitchTest Duration: 1 month of continuous operationPrimary Use Case: Expanding network ports behind a TV setup for a console, streamer, and PCWhat Works Well (Pros):Zero Setup Required: Completely plug-and-play; simply attach power and plug in your ethernet cables to start using it.Full Gigabit Speeds: Delivers full 1000 Mbps data transfer rates across all ports simultaneously with zero bottlenecking.Rugged Metal Case: Fanless metal housing runs completely silent and dissipates heat effectively.Room for Improvement (Cons):Power Input Location: The power jack is on the rear while link LEDs are on the front, which can make tidy cable management tricky. No Mounting Hardware Included: Does not ship with wall mounting screws, though it features keyhole slots underneath.Real-World Testing & Fit/Function:Connected this switch to my main router using a Cat6 cable, then linked a games console, smart TV, and desktop PC into the remaining ports. Downloads on the console reached maximum fiber speeds immediately with rock-solid latency. The unit stays cool to the touch even when streaming 4K video while downloading large files in the background. The Bottom Line:An indestructible, silent, and reliable network expansion box that fixes weak Wi-Fi issues instantly. A perfect home network utility.

A Good Solution For Multiple Devices
Not a bad size, I was expecting it to be bigger but it's nice and compact! It provides a simple solution for splitting my ethernet connected directly to the router into the next room so I can connect my PC and games consoles without having to worry about WiFi stuttering. So far the speeds I'm seeing through the splitter are near identical to the speeds I would get if I was using the single ethernet cable directly to the Virgin Media Hub, so there's not much speed loss at all as my top speed is around 380Mbps.I have noticed since adding this device there is some static blipping sounds coming from my speakers, it's not a big deal as it's very subtle but if I'm not listening to anything through them I can hear it.After a few days of using the splitter, I noticed my PS5 which was in slot 4 kept showing notifications saying LAN connected > LAN disconnected > LAN Connected over and over until I unplugged and put it back in, I decided to test this port again by changing that port with my PS3 LAN cable so moving the PS5 to slot 3 and the PS3 to slot 4 and it happened again with the PS3 so I may have a faulty port? The ethernet from my router is in Port 1, my PC is in Port 2 and hasn't had a disconnection issue like this, so I'll have to keep an eye on it. A month or two on, I moved the main cable to the Hub to port 5 and haven't used port 4 and I've not encountered the disconnections mentioned previously or any disconnect issues after switching the Hub from Port 1 to 5.The manual didn't specify a port that the direct Internet line should be placed in so it made sense to just add it in the first one and then the subsequent devices following down the line.I have noticed some packet loss playing MWII and Warzone on PS5 but didn't have any playing Apex on PC, I think it might be due to the Virgin Media firewall and not the splitter itself, so I've started playing with it turned off to see if that solves the issue.Overall I'm happy with the splitter, it saves me from having to switch a single cable between multiple devices and my speeds aren't slowed at all by the extra device which is also a plus 👍🏻 the only negative seems to be port 3 but as I don't need to use it avoiding that port specifically has eliminated one issue.

Great network switch 1g bit
You can't go wrong with Netgear switches,I am a radio ham and my pc is connected to my radio,Last night the pc kept looking network connectionIf I unplugged the switch and plugged it back in it would work for a few minutes then drop out againSo I ordered this cheap Netgear switch, same day delivery, I have used this one before I got them for work when I was working and they were very reliable, and that was getting used in a car x-ray unit so it had to be good and reliable this is great value for the price

Amazing Plug and play switch to expand home network.
I needed a switch to expand the amount of devices I have hardwired in my home network and this has been perfect for what I needed. It’s small, made of metal and feels extremely robust. The package comes with the unit and the power supply only so no cables included on this one.I’ve got this plugged in with my router sitting on top and have had no issues so far with heat or interference. There is no heat being transferred through the case and I feel very comfortable with it being plugged in all the time. For installation, this is a plug and play device which requires no management. Plug a cat6 cable into one port on the device and the other end into a free port on the router and then lead your other devices into any of the other ports. It’s worth noting that if you’re buying this switch and have gigabit Ethernet, you will need at least Cat6 cables to get the highest speeds. The size isn’t much bigger than a ps5 game game and comes in a nice black/blue colour.Overall I’m very happy with this and have seen zero issues so far and will update this review again if this changes.Definitely recommend for the price!

STABLE SPEEDS - NO APP IS STRICTLY NECESSARY
BACKGROUND: I have one RJ45 plug-in in my flat (my internet is included in the rent). I used that to connect my PC and my TV - one at a time, though. I had to exchange the cables whenever I wanted to watch a film on the TV (Prime video, Netflix, iPlayer, etc.) or vice-versa.That could be time-consuming - and nerve-wrecking - besides, you will need two connections going to sign in to some Apps (iPlayer for example). If you keep doing this, you might end up damaging the RJ45 plug or the wall outlet (...)First, I tried a RJ45 plug splitter (it did NOT work at all). Then I went for a switch. The NETGEAR5. It DID work! So far, so good! Five stars! With the NETGEAR switch, I don't need to keep plugging and unplugging cables. That, was the idea.Q: You may wonder if the switch will cause a drop in the upload/download connection speeds.A: It does not seem to. It remains sensibly the same. Indeed, the "stability" seems to improve with the NETGEAR 5 device on.See the photos (data applies only for my specific connection). The photo on the left shows the data for the connection with NETGEAR5 ON. On the right, without it.All factors remaining constant, the figures suggests the stability of the connection increases with NETGEAR5 ON. Google for "my internet speed" if you wish to test yours.Q: Are these upload and downloading speeds fast enough to watch a HD film?A: Yes! And almost Ultra HD (which requires 20Mbps). An HD film requires around 5 Mbps or fewer.Q: Do you need to download the NETGEAR APP for the switch to work? As per instructions?A: No! Only if you want to register the product with NETGEAR, I guess. I might try to register with the App, but from what I have gathered here (review) it may not be as straightforward as it seems. One thing is for sure. The switch will work fine with or without the App. Whether you register it or not. Well, mine does (...); ) I hope this helps.

Came with UK adapter
Despite that I bought this item via amazon.SE inside EU, it came with incompatible AC plug(I guess UK variant). Therefore I cannot use it.I think that it violates the Low Voltage Directive or alike.
