Does the job but read the reviews!
Good tool, did the job on a 2016 A1 but not without advice given on other reviews here. Best tip was from the chap who stated to use the wheel bolts to crack the bearing off the seat first, using the extraction clam shells to jack the studs against. Plenty of CV joint grease on the threads and standard grease on the bearing under the head, it will prevent the pins bending and bearing should come out easily. Outer hub needs to be clean, had to leave the clam shell screws slightly loose so it didn’t bind on the hub, same with the shells used for inserting the bearing. MAJOR NOTE: There is no cut out for the ABS sensor so you either need to remove that first IF it will come out or as I did put 2 large nuts up the threaded bar against the back of the bearing and then put the threaded nut on after that. NOTE 2: On installation, tricky to start the bearing, but once you get going it goes in fairly easy. Only major issue I had is, there is a recess on the inside of the black clam shells and the bearing is about 1mm or so proud of the hub once you fully pull it in. Had to use the threaded bar on its own and set it home the last 1mm or so until new bearing was flush with outside edge of the housing. You’ll hear the click of the retaining ring once it’s home properly. All in all a good tool for the job once you’re setup right. No pics to add on this review. Dropping a star for the issues mentioned and slight lack of clarity on instructions.

Did the the job effectively.
Have not left a review in a long time on any amazon purchases. I have left this review, as I was hesitant in buying a relatively cheap tool compared to Laser Tools which are excellent tools and do the task well, day in, and day out in the garage. but also expensive for a one off job to do at home. I read the mixed reviews and bought it and the tool did the the task effectively and quickly. as long as you watch any video on Youtube on this tool, you to take care in the extraction and installation when using this tool, it will work as described. For clarity, I paid for this tool with my own money and have not sponsored by the seller or tool maker.

Faulty machining made it useless
We are sorry we had to return this item but feel we should offer a full description of our reason for return as follows: We opened the bearing fitting kit which was well packaged and with no signs of damage. We had our car ready and with wheels and brakes removed etc. ready to fit the bearings with the kit. We prepared and assembled the bearing and kit and started to tighten the threaded centre shaft to pull the bearing hub free. After several turns by hand the threaded bar locked up solid and we could not rotate it any further. It was not under tension at this point only hand tight. We dismantled the whole thing and tried to thread the nut supplied down the shaft. Upon reaching about half way down the threaded bar with the nut supplied it locked up solid. There was a fault with the thread on the bar which was preventing the nut travelling the full length of the bar. This meant we could not gain full travel when trying to pull out the bearing on the car. This is a manufacturing fault with the thread and not something we had done as we had not applied any tension at this stage due to the lack of travel. As we had the car up on stands and in pieces and also on a Sunday, we decided to try and rectify the problem by inspecting the thread and to see if we could clear the defect ourselves. We could see some bad machining within the thread and lightly filed it to try and get the nut to pass over the bad thread section. We could not and again the nut seized up. We tried reversing the nut and again it seized. We put the bar in a vice and applied some force to try and get the nut over the bad section but it was locking up solid every time right in the middle of the bar. After 3 hours of trying we decided in desperation to utilise what thread we had available and also use some spacers to allow us to do the job. This made the job very awkward and time consuming as well as dangerous. We worked into the night to get the job done. This tool was useless due to the bad thread section and that is down to bad manufacturing so I’m sorry but even though we used the kit I would not attempt to use it again. We are returning for a refund and next time I will source from a reputable manufacturer.

Fantastic tool
I bought this tool for my 2009 Vw polo Tdi to fit a front wheel bearing it and it did the job easy I didn’t even need to disconnect the shock absorber to use this tool the bearing can be replaced on the car no need for a press etc. had the old bearing out and new one in in about 15mins.

Certainly adequate for the task
I am giving 4 stars in terms of quality as I had to chase a couple of the threads on the clamshells to clean them up and to stop the bolts from marring. Not a big deal as I had the right size tap. The instructions could be better for novice mechanics but they are ok and most people will (I expect) have seen online videos of similar tools being used so it's not difficult to work out the combination of parts to remove and install the bearing. Anyway it did the job nicely on two bearings without drama. I doubt it would be heavy duty enough to stand up to daily abuse in a professional workshop, but you don't expect that for the modest price tag on this item. It is certainly adequate for occasional / DIY use and is a massively lower priced option compared to the expensive hydraulic clam-press tool called out in VAG workshop manuals.

Much better than expected
This tool was excellent. I was very nervous after reading all the negative reviews. But this is one of those cases of with fast, cheap, good. You can only choose two of those. This tool is good and cheap, but you have to nurse it a bit. Grease everything to within an inch of it's life. Smear the bearing with a LOT of grease, and take a brush, and work the grease into all the threads of the threaded rod. Then it really does it's job. Removed six wheel bearings today, on extremely rusted hubs. They came out no problem. Of course you have to use a longer ratchet or a breaker bar, but with all the grease helping to reduce friction, it was not an insane amount of force that was needed. Also - if your ABS sensor is seized so you have to leave it in, you can flip the part that you would use to pull out the bearing, so the smaller end is against the bearing. Then you have about 10mm of travel before you hit the sensor, so you can crack the retaining ring. After the ring is cracked, remove the metal ring used to push the bearing, and just thread the nut directly onto the threaded rod against the bearing, and pull the bearing the rest of the way out. The force needed after the retaining ring is cracked is not very much, so a regular ratchet can pull the bearing out without problems. None of the abs sensors on the 6 hubs i worked on today could come out, and they were all fine. I am extremely satisfied with the purchase, and feel as if this tool will serve me well for a long time, as long as i keep i WELL greased. When you get the tool, thread the nut onto the threaded rod, to see if there are manufactoring defects. If the nut is too tight, send it back. Also - sometimes people get the wrong push rings. Again - just send it back. But if you get the tool, and the initial checks are ok, this is a gem. I seldom write reviews, but hope i can put some of the nervous purchasers (like me) at ease :) Again - GREEAAAASEE :)

Das Set hat bei mir super funktioniert, (Audi A2). Man sollte die Spindel mit Langzeitfett LM47 fetten, damit sie sich nicht frisst.
