GREAT CHEAP UPGRADE
Bought a used core 2 duo processor e6700 from this seller (Eagle Eye) for $14.95 to replace a sluggish Pentium D 820 in an old HP desktop. The shipping was real fast with great packaging and even included enough thermal paste for one application. The e6700 looked like new, very clean. I installed it and booted up windows 7. It started up, windows showing, then the screen went off for about 30 seconds, then booted all the way up. It was installing drivers for the different processor, hence the dark screen. Then a restart was required and then everything booted up perfectly, no bios update needed or anything else. No problems with it at all. What a difference in speed. It left the Pentium D in the dust. It's a great cheap upgrade for an old desktop. I would definitely buy from this seller again.

Nice upgrade for an old PC
Bought this cpu to upgrade from a Pentium 805 D in a Shuttle XPC SD32G2 running Win7 Home Premium. Came in a classic clamshell package consistent with either a pull-out or OEM chip. CPU had one smudge above the product description which could've been thermal paste residue. But I verified the E6700 designation (Costa Rica) and dropped it in. It was recognized immediately and ran smoothly. Overall, I am happy that it has given my old PC new life. The processor score in Win7 increased from 5.4 to 7.0!As per the other reviewer, I agree that full disclosure is the best policy and let the buyer beware. I suspect that this CPU was a pull-out but I would've bought it anyway because the overall cost was worthwhile ($116) to breathe new life into my old system. I plan to gift it to my friend's for use in homework, etc. No sense in spending 4-5 times that much for a new PC.

Very happy with how this turned out
Very happy with how this turned out. This is the fastest processor that my older system can use and when I built this in 2006 it cost around 350$, so at the time I opted for a slower one to fit my budget. Now I've installed it and am verrrry happy with it! I have to admit that I was a bit worried that when I got this it would be some Chinese black market/counterfeit product but I couldn't have been more wrong. It's genuine Intel in immaculate packaging and even came with a tube of thermal compound and a sweet letter from the seller. Thanx Lori!

Total dissatisfied: CPU was DOA
Arrive totally dead. I thought it might be something else on the computer but when I purchased another processor from a different vendor, the computer booted right up and has continued to work. Because I made the purchase with an Amazon gift card I just sat the processor aside and took the lost as a lesson learned. Then I came across a vendor with the processor at half the price and decide to give it a try. That's when I confirmed it was just the CPU that was Dead. This is the first time I have received a dead processor. Because it has been awhile from the time I purchased this processor and then the one from another vender, I did not think it is worth my time, to try and get my money back. But as I was cleaning out old emails I found the email requesting me to review my purchase. I had been happy with all my other Amazon purchases. I wasted my "Amazon Gift Card" on a this dead Processor.

Better than expected.
I received a Core 2 Duo E6750. Same chip as Core 2 Duo E6700 except it has a 133 MHz FSB and Intel Trusted Execution technology. Worked fine in my motherboard. Could have been a problem if your motherboard didn't support 133 MHz FSB. There was also a Pentium E6700 in the box. I was unable to get this chip to work in any motherboard.

Have had good luck with used or refurb items backed by Amazon
Price is right but shipping a little pricey. Have had good luck with used or refurb items backed by Amazon. This is older vintage, but still a good performer to put new life in an older system. I have already gone to a faster used processor that is maxing out my Optiplex 755 MOBO. Also upgraded memory while still available. Used items permit economical performance enhancement of older systems at cents on the dollar considering new or original costs.

Great upgrade for an old computer
I was considering upgrading my old pc, but only if the price of new parts would be cheap. I saw that this guy was the maximum supported CPU for the pc. Installed it, booted up the pc, and voila! I saw a noticeable performance improvement over the old CPU (which was an E4500) and didn't cost me much. I'm definitely glad I picked this up!
