Great product, high value...
This review is for the Explore Scientific 20mm Lens with a 68 degree field of view. I had been looking at the Explore Scientific line-up for some time, when I saw that they were running a sale, I made my purchase and I'm very please with the eyepiece. This lens is a high quality product which produces crisp and sharp images. I found that while viewing the moon, even with various filters the lens is easy to focus. The construction material is aluminum and all markings are clearly labeled, making access to the lens quick, even in darker conditions. The lens functions well in a variety of telescopes, due to its 6 elements in 4 group design. A word of caution, the lens is heavy when compared to some 20mm eyepieces. However, the weight is in line with other lenses that would be in this class and price range. To that end, the lens may not be suited well for a smaller scope, something that would be less than 100mm or perhaps a 660 focal length. This of course will depend on the type of telescope and mount as well. In terms of accessories, the internal threads are cut well and the fit for 1.25 inch filters is perfect, and what you would expect from a quality manufacture like Explore Scientific. I can recommend this eyepiece, the quality is there for viewing the skies as well as for those who may be interested in astrophotography... I expect the product to last for years to come.

Great eyepiece for the money!
I typically buy the Explore Scientific 82 degree UWA eyepieces. This one has the 68 degree AFoV. I had an 18MM UWA on back order but no telling when it was going to arrive and this was $100 less and 1 1/4" rather than 2" so fit some scopes I have with 1 1/4" visual backs and diagonals. There was nothing lacking in the field of view bring a SWA rather than UWA. I truly did like the views and they were WIDE. Eye relief was great and the product flawless. Same great images and quality as the UWA eyepieces. I might even consider having purchased the 68 SWs had I not already had two of the UWs given to me and wanted to complete the series. This takes nothing away from this 'keeper' though. It will fill a niche that the 18mm 2" won't. GREAT EYEPIECE, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Amazing optics
I love this eyepiece, I use it for binoculars or better to say telescope binoculars Oberwerk 100 SD, amazing lenses the only problem I encounter was it curbs when you look a straight structures but I asume it is due to I used 2 eyepieces in my binoculars, amazing optics for the money, never get dump or dim when it is humid, field of view needs to get better for a82 degree but it is ok. I want to get the 100 degrees but it only comes in 2 inch barrels

Bright and sharp
I'm using this primarily with an 8-inch Newtonian. It has a nice field of view without having to spend a huge amount of money. I get clear, sharp views throughout the field of view--it almost seems like I am floating in space. I'm using it primarily for viewing DSOs, but it is excellent for initially viewing planets before switching to a shorter focal length eyepiece. I'm now considering a 40 mm as well.

Big improvement over plossl, but takes some getting used to. Can't be used with f6.3 focal reducer.
I own a 9.25" SCT and was looking for the widest field view I could get. When used "successfully" this eyepiece (68 degree view, 40mm) offers a fabulous view. But it takes some taking used to. I found when trying to align my telescope it was actually harder to use than the plossl that came with the scope: unless I got my eye precisely over the center, I would see "kidney bean" shaped pieces of the view. Also, beware that you can't use this in combination with the f6.3 focal reducer as the focal length is too long, and apparently brings the secondary mirror assembly into view. Had I known this, I think I would have purchased the 34mm eyepiece instead (Celestron says the max with the FR is 35mm).

Great eye piece!!! Want more sizes now!
This EP (eye piece) is well work the money! Wide FOV and excellent clarity. Was able to see Saturn perfectly, even at dawn with a crescent moon next to it! Jupiter and Mars were also spectacular and Mars had been difficult to get sharp with my other lenses. I will definitely invest in this brand. I currently have a Luminous (10mm) and a variety of Celestron Plossls (25mm, 40mm, 13mm) and this EP is definitely winning out over all of those!

Fantastic
Hands down my favorite eye piece I have. If you’re looking for close to Televue quality but not Televue price I implore you to start with ES.

A great addition to your eyepiece collection
I use this in my 10 " dob. Fine performance and the field of view and magnification is in the sweet spot to find deep sky objects. A little pricey but worth it, especially if you can get it on sale at Amazon as I did.

Awesome field of view on this eyepiece. Great eye relief and clarity. A little over priced compared to others. I wish i could attach my DLSR directly to it like i can with my Celestron Duos but i bought it for the magnification and field of view.
