Review: Fantastic OEM replacement! - I bought this for my 1989 Jeep Cherokee. I won't use the common aftermarket brands like Airtex. They just don't last more than six months to a year. Replacing a fuel pump is not something you want to have to repeat doing. I highly recommend the Delphi fuel pump.
Review: Great unit….improper dimensions. - As a 25 year master tech I can say that typically Delphi makes good fuel pumps. This pump, however, was not so good. I was installing it in my 1990 jeep xj which has a very specific fit due to a location grommet in the bottom of the tank. The assembly I received was well made but was about 3/4” too long. Both the grommet and the main pump were both located far too low for it to ever fit in the tank. Fortunately my fuel gauge sender was still good so I had to switch all other parts over to my original hanger. This would have been a nightmare for anyone without the experience to confidently swap the parts! Plus where I live doing desertcart returns are nearly impossible since none of the return locations on desertcarts list honor the contract.

So, bought and installed it without a problem other than the o-ring was a really, really tight fit. It seems to be working great but it is really loud. I'm hoping it will settle down after a day or two because right now it sounds like an industrial air extractor.
