Haskell W. Harr Drum Method - Book One - Bk/Online Audio: For Band and Orchestra

This method has been around since the thirties and was the one my private instructor introduced me to back in the sixties . Once I learned all of the lessons on snare drum my instructor made-up lessons derived from these for the drum kit . I'm using them now for a refresher course on the basics.The audio tracks weren't available when I started out ... a great bonus for beginners .

This is one of the best beginner drum books around. I used it back in 1972 when I was in elementary school. I use it now to teach. What's even better is that there is an online addition that enables you to hear what the lesson should sound like.

Love this book...the progression is perfect for me (older wanna-be drummer)....the CD makes it much fun to practice. You'll know what it's supposed to sound like, and if you do the exercises in order, it's alot easier than trying to take shortcuts (we all want to be real drummers immediately :) )Myself and another drummer practice with this, and our private teachers have told us we are really improving with this method.

Excellent book. This is my third copy since I started playing drums in high school. I always want a copy around to use as a reference and practise source.
