Easy Game: Making Sense of No Limit Hold'Em 3rd Edition: Adaptations

I liked it
This book carries a hefty price tag relatively speaking, but as a student of the game it was worth it to me. I underline important points as I read and I’ve written all over this book. Each chapter can be read and referred to as a separate entity, but the progression is from basic to advanced. Getting better at poker is about questioning everything and you will find some answers here.Basic Sections include: Reasons for betting, theories of isolation & showdown, table dynamics, evaluating boards, equity distributions, and much more. The idea of choosing hands with post flop equity made sense to me in insuring I have a plan postflop. Don’t want to give away any of his secrets, but there is just so much good information hereAdvanced Sections include: Leverage, Dead money, the Squeeze, deepstacked play, leveling, donking, and so much more. Practically Optimal vs GTO and Total Game Strategy are two more sections I liked. 52 sections altogether and then he has 27 sample hands where he shows examples of applying these concepts. If you’re a serious poker player at any level, you will find a helpful tip in this book

Game Changer
I must say, this book was a life changer. I have been playing low limit cash games for quite some time now (as a winning player), and was what you would consider a tight, passive player. Easy Game opened my eyes up to the right way to play. I am not a huge fan of poker books, so when a fellow reg suggested this book to me, it took me a couple months to actually plunk down the money and purchase the kindle copy. I thought, $65.00 for an Ebook?! It's seriously worth every penny. I consider my life in texas hold 'em now in terms of "before Easy Game" and "after Easy Game". Perhaps it was my lack of knowledge behind betting, strategy, etc., that made me absorb the information so fully, but I have exponentially improved. I have seen my monthly income increase by three times. Not to mention I have cashed (running final table/final two tables deep) in two large tournaments, including a WSOP 2016 event this summer (and I never play tournaments). Again, I would have labeled myself a tight, passive player before, so the concepts in this book really spoke to me, especially on how to bet, and capitalize on my hands. I don't usually write reviews but this book warranted one. This book truly did change my game, which in turn has changed my life.

Best poker book to get. Priceless nuggets of good information
Just buy it. It is worth the money, *however* I thought at first the author was simply verbose.. and he is. I also thought he should understand better what a second edition means. It means you can rewrite what you have from the first edition no questions asked...Andrew comments in the second edition why he wrote what he wrote in the first edition. E.g. He wrote that there were three reasons a person might bluff and he goes on to write that "Edition two (or three) kills the third reason, and here is why.." and then it trails on and seems to segue from other more germane points... It would make the read easier to get through if he doesn't argue often with himself why he wrote something one way and now recommends a different approach. His writing style is a bit crazy BUT if you can get past that, and all his footnotes and editorial notes, everything he says is genius.I have to wonder what being inside his brain must be like. Very noisy.

Very good read
Very hard book to come across. Ran into it by accident, picked it up and couldn’t put it down. Very easy read. I understand about some people finding the updates difficult, but I find it more refreshing that an author is updating the work, making it relevant, or even rethinking some of his original concepts. Makes it more like a living work that constantly flows, which is poker. Challenges a lot of ways you conventionally think about the game.

Great!
One of the best poker players in the game writes a book that probably should be sold for $100s if not $1000+. This book is for experienced players that have an understanding of the game and realize that there is a lot more to poker than what meets the eye. I've watched a lot of Andrew's videos, and he is a genius. Not only does he teach very well, but he also thinks of complex issues and dives deeper into the issues to see why we do certain things and if there is a way to make what we do better. Standard is not good enough for him. If this is one of your first poker reads, it will completely change your ways of thinking and completely transform your game.

Solid approach to the game
The first half of the book is a fantastic treatise on the fundamentals that will help you win at lower stakes. I'm going to have to re-read the second half a few times before I try to move up to tougher games.

Excellent book.
This book will bridge the gap. If you are an experienced poker player but some of what the pros say does not make sense to you, read this book. It will give you enough to contextualize the rest. Excellent book.

good book, many chapters and theory
Great book. Lots of theory, many chapters and some examples. I gave it for because I would have liked more examples in it. In addition, the chapters are very short and thus not in depth.

good not great
this is not essential reading for poker players, it is interesting and an enjoyable read, and definitely don't buy one of the previous editions, since he corrects the more terrible advice from the previous ones in this book.
