Adequate for my Two Day Trip in Geneva & Lausanne
This Switzerland guide book was adequate for my two day trip in Geneva and Lausanne. I didn't use it extensively, as a two day trip is rather quick. It was informative for telling me about trains between the towns, the most important activities, good restaurants, etc.

I love rough guides
I collect the Rough Guides, they are the best around. Very clear instructions, good tips about the country, give all the details about the cities I was visiting. I recomend it and surelly will buy others

excellent guide completely adequate for many and varied interests
Despite only having a single author I found this guide completely adequate with a good balance between the cities and the fantastic outdoors. Lots of small insets maps for towns and hiking regions means this one book is the only companion you need. Given that english spoken everywhere and the strong tourist services there was an adequate balance in requesting readers to occasionally rely on local information for all the final details with the guide adequately providing the broader level informatin necessary for the planning before you arrive - well done

Kindle version - No index for travel guide--poor formating
I purchased the Kindle version of this guide to use during my Swiss travels. I returned it within ten minutes. Unlike the print edition, there is no index. I want to be able to look up a town quickly on my iphone. Without an index, I have to go through the contents which gives regions and "turn" through pages to get to particular towns. Very tedious and defeats the purpose of a digital book with hyperlinks. I can't recommend the digital version of this book.

it's okay
very general and sometimes not quite accurate; more information should be included about cultural events and entrance fees and hours. organization could be better: things like trains and other transportation, electrical chargers, etc were at the back instead of right up front. again many things were in general-speak rather than the specifics that are needed. Frommer's and Rick Steve's do a better job.

Functional
Does the job but a bit dry and lacking in colour. Helped with our trips around Zurich but was nothing compared with local knowledge.

Up to the usual standard
I have used Rough Guides for many years, and this one maintains the excellent standard. Good balance of factual information, historical and cultural background, and recommendation.
